There's not much about the Svt-40...

Why isn't there a sticky like all the other commies gun?

What are you opinions on it? Is it worth the 319$ price tag on marstar?

Honestly, I'd get it just for fun, I don't really think I'd bring this for hunting or anything, only plinking.

Marstar's are chopped mage versions, and pricey. They can be had with full mags for $250-300. JoBrook had a couple nice ones left when I was there a couple days ago.

Good review Arty. Just as a interesting point. The russians made a full auto version that also worked quite well and functioned flawlessly also.
The full auto version was the avt 40 and was proved to be unreliable because the 7.62x54R round was too harsh in full auto fire, increasing part breakage. The avt was discontinued quite fast. The standard svt on others hands was, with proper training,a very good rifle.

The Finns liked it a lot too. How well it worked boiled down to training. More elite Russian troops like Naval forces had no issues with them compared to regular conscripts.

True, it was the average peasant conscript who had issues with the workings of the SVT 40. You can see how this problem was addressed when the SKS was developed-a very simplified rifle made for the masses....
