Winchester Power Max (red box)

Has anyone used this Win Power Max in the red box? how is it for accuracy and how is it for expansion?

Its the most accurate factory load ive shot out of my Ruger tang safety m77 in .308. Sub MOA

Havent actually shot any animals besides a kill shot on a doe from a couple meters away, so ic ant comment on expansion.

Fired a box off the other day and about half of them(10) the necks in the brass were all cracked....never again!

I have a few boxes but haven't fired them off. Since it was the cheapest Wal-Mart had I am not expecting much.

You might be surprised. They shoot great from my gun in .308. My father in laws 3006 shoots them well too.

If they shoot very good in your 308, you should reload and tailord a load for it, it could be and easy sub half moa rifle... Cheers. JP.

I got a 3/4 of an inch group with it.

Fired two boxes of this stuff i had in storage for 6 or so months and forgot about , in .308 , shot out of my M14 in 150 grain flavor .

Powder charges were VERY inconsistent . Few would be soft , few would be very powerful , brass is good though , ones of the few brands of winchester factory ammo that HASNT had tarnish on it out of the box.

Shot roughly 2.5 - 3 " at 100yds.

Friend uses them in his .308 groups well, I couldn't get them to group at all in my .30-06, went back to the old reliable Federal Blue box.

I bought a box last week for my .30-30 and the stuff performs very well. Two 4 liter water jugs made the one i could retreive mushroom very nice. It all seemed in tact too. Accuracy was a bit over two iches but thats free hand at 100 yards.

Used 2 boxes in 270 wsm 130 grainers.Groups are good,have not shot a deer with however,wanted the brass to reload...

So has anyone shot a game animal with this ammo yet? Bullet performance?
