JR Carbine versus Thureon Defense?

Hi All,

I have been considering buying one of the JR or Thureon Defense carbines, but I can't decide which I like better. (I haven't handled either.)

Their specs are similar, with the JR using Glock mags and the Thureon using converted UZI mags (I think). Both have aluminum receivers, use AR trigger parts. It looks like the Thureon carbine uses AR-styled push-pins to mate its the upper and lower receivers. The JR carbine looks like it might provide easier caliber-conversions.

I would really like to buy both and compare for myself (but I don't know how to hide that much cash from my wife).

Had anyone handled both? If so, I would like to hear of your experiences.

I was told by arms east they were in stock a while back. they have them in a few different configurations I believe. I was going to get one, but then I realized my bank account was dry :/

The JR Carbine that I have is having some extraction issues. JR will send out the upgraded bolt/buffer that is supposed to fix all the issues. Elwood Epps is getting them in. If you buy new stock, it won't be an issue, but I bought mine used.

Bought mine this week: nib from The Gun Dealer in NB, Gen 2 so I expect it to be good to go. I need to verify the ser # against the bolt upgrade offered by JRC to see if it applies to mine or not.

Regards,
