rifled/slug barrel question

i have a friend with a remington automaster model 878 12 gauge shotgun and he wants a rifled / slug barrel for it. Does anyone know where i could find one?

Definitely not. The 878 operates by gas pressure tapped from the barrel and channeled
to a gas piston assembly contained in the magazine tube.(Dumb idea Remington!)
The 870, being a pump gun, does not have a gas port. I don't think the barrel shanks
and retaining collar spacing would be the same either.
It's a no go scenario.

I think I saw a modified gas ported 870 barrel for that application on the EE recently. It may have been smooth bore tho.

If you check with a place like western gun parts you may be able to come up with a smooth bore rifle sighted barrel to fit the 878 as remington did make such a barrel.
