Took my two year old out and I figured if I am going to eat some of her candy I should dress up too.

Only thing I know i need to get are the boots , gloves , blank firing adapter, and some other things I am missing but I can't think of what it is.

Lol probably the only night you could walk around with a rifle (legally, mind you) and only have the cops called 3 or 4 times, as opposed to by every single person that saw you...

Use some paint ( removable of course) and cover the muzzle so people think its a air soft or something. Aren't you a little old or for treat or treat ?

Reminds me of simpler times, 30 yrs ago or so, when my young fella dressed up with an expended M72 LAW on his back and carried one of those hard rubber AK47 OPFOR / Fantasian training rifles:eek:. Try that one today.

I live in a rural town. Short of me loading nobody will say boo. With a two year old in tow I am fine.

Wouldn't ever paint it. I have a gun in public and it isn't illegal.

Not to be a nancy here but technically it is, you aren't allowed just walking around with a firearm it has to be transported with a purpose e.g. to the range/hunting/gun smith etc.

Relieving homeowners of their surplus junk food is actually a community service, so I don't see how a transport issue could arise. What did people think of your outfit, what kind of comments did you get?

I got a lot of possitive feedback. I think in this town I could have worn it with the bayonet on and nobody would have blinked.

I had a little boy ask me 'is that real and is it a sks?' I responded 'would be a silly thing to get a real uniform and a fake gun and that it was a swedeish firearm.'

Only had one person ask me if it was loaded. I responded ' only with blanks and swedeish meatballs '

Aaaw, the little boy knows about the SKS...

It's like when I was a kid every rifle was a .303. I guess cheap milsurp does that!

I let my cousin borrow a tac-vest, helmet and dewat Sten about 3 years ago to go around with. I left the AR-15 mags in the tac-vest, but put orange dummy/training rounds in the tops of the mags to make it more visible.

:)

I might let him use the BREN next time....carrying the tripod might be a bit of a push though.
