iron sights on a heavy barrell 10/22

No offense, but that is kind of a pointless venture. Your sight radius is far to small to hit anything accurately. However, if you are dead set, Techsights makes a very nice rear sight, and you can install a Marbles Arms front-sight, which needs a Dovetail milled into your barrel.

You don't want to file a notch or glue anything on ? Do you have the thread protector ?

you can get the barrel drilled and tapped to put a front sight on as well
All the above options I know of. I was hoping for somthing that clamps to the barrell or uses the muzzle threads I will use some sort of reciever mounted sight if I decide to do it (vortex 1.5-5 on it currently)
Main reason for wanting is I have broken a few scopes/ red dots recently and want some sorta backup

They make front sites for palma rifles that don't need to be drilled and tapped or dovetailed. As for a rear site? I'm not too sure.
What are you doing to break scopes? And what kind of dire situation do you find yourself in with a 22lr that you need a back up set of irons? No judging, just interested.

one broke riding in my quad (cheap one) another busted when i slipped and rifle landed scope down on a rock was a half decent bushnell. then a red dot i was trying fell apart on me
the last two times i was hunting and if i had backup sights i could have limited on grouse both times
my rifle wears a vortex 1.5-5x33 now best glass on it yet

tech-sights make a barrel adaptor for .920 barrels with a dovetail cut in it, which would allow you to run tech-sights and gain some sight radius. Green Mountain sells bull barrels d&t'd for sights, any gunsmith should be able to do the same too.
