Anyone Have Isuses when or during ordering or purchasing?

Don't get me wrong I am not bad mouthing Epp's, I was just wondering if this was a normal situation and allot of people set me straight. Not only that but with the apology that I got from Wes later that night and the explanation of what went wrong. Wes made it all better, same with the next day when I went in he apologized again. My only problem now is that i thought I was getting the Norinco CQB not the CQA, for that is what I had asked for and told they had in stock. Which again sort of isn't that big of a deal the difference between the two is just the finish on the firearm, the CQB has the better finish.

I had issues with Island Outfitter!!! First they are overpriced as hell only because they are the only one in victoria, but past that, I ordered a VZ858 from them. Told me it would take a month or two to get it in. Past two months, no call, I call them, still no rifle. Over 6months later, I happen to go in MTL for the hollidays and went to Dante. Bought the rifle there and it was shipped to my door in BC for cheaper than Island Outfitter charged me. I went to see them and got my money back. It's been something like two years from that, and I never saw any 858 in their stores!!! Only when I have no choice I purchase equipment there. Now we have Wholesales Sports in Nanaimo, and I just wait, make the drive and spend a LOT of money over there!!!

I was looking to take an antique revolver to Epp's for a tune up. First communication was with Kevin through e-mail. Excellent service with Kevin's response and response time. I then made the 2 hour drive up and was greeted at the counter by a heavy guy with dark hair and moustache. He was a little short with his answers to the point of being rude. At one point Kevin chimed in with some answers for me as he was standing down the counter from us.
The gunsmithing service was top notch and Kevin and the selection of goodies will keep me shopping there.
As far as Williams Arms goes, all of the people there have been very helpful and respectful. John and Stu are great guys and only 1/2 hour drive for me.

I have purchased handguns from Epps, Williams, Flaherty's, Gagnon's, Accuracy Plus and others....
I find they all have their good and bad days but on the whole they are all a great bunch of guys... dealing with cranky old me...

I have to say that Kevin and Dave are great guys to deal with I purchased three pistols in two weeks and it went smooth. I did inquire about another pistol that they did not have in stock but they were up front about how long it would take to get it in. As for them not returning calls right away well from what I could see they are busy as hell and that tells me there doing something right. Let's face it everybody has good and bad days. Also I was there the day of the accidental shooting with my daugter I walk out of the gun room about ten seconds before the firearm went off and not to mention that the next day another idiot came to the store with a loaded shotgun so if anyone should complain it should be the guys at EllWood. So be patient these guys are doing a great job.

I guess they dont realize Albertans dont pay HST. Shipping seems pretty excessive for something that only weighs an ounce or two and it was not even delivered to my door, had to pick it up at the post office. $45.70 Total wont be doing business with them anymore. Wonder what a rifle would cost to ship.

I ran into the same issue with taxes. I would have been charged both taxes for an item shipped to B.C. before HST was in, so I declined the purchase. Only EPPS and Bass Pro Shops seem to insist on this. Also tried to get EPPS to just match price advertised at Wolverine and they declined even though they were 50.00 apart. They knew Wolverine was temp. out of stock. I waited a week for stock to arrive and ordered from Wolverine and no PST. I would still but from EPPPS though, if they were cheaper with all factors considered. They were always polite when turning my business down.

Can I add 2 cents... I have put on order a mossberg shotty (they were the best price) about 2 months ago...

Seems after going thru some threads, this is the norm (extended delivery), but trivial communications is not. I think I would pay another $50 for a set of straight answers from EE though.

It also seems (from other threads) the 930 SPX may be tough to get into Canada these days... terrible news!

I recently put down a deposit for a firearm that had to be ordered(via email). Epps told me they would call when it arrived at the store.
I found out my order was in when the CFO registration papers showed up at my house. When I called Epps they said I was contacted and its standard practice to transfer a firearm even though it wasn't completely paid for or inspected by me:confused:
When I got to the store to pick-up/pay for the firearm I noticed my phone number on the invoice was incorrect. If Epps called the number they should have figured out it was the wrong number and contact me by email. I guess they were too busy.....

As far as I'm concerned the staff at Epps have always done an outstanding job for me with every purchase and hopefully I will continue spending hundreds or thousands a year at that store.

Having said that who is going to be the subject of the next #####/whine session .... Canada Post ??

A couple years ago I bought a very nice double bbl. shotgun from a very large , highly reputable gun shop...not Epps, and after asking that it be well packed that same store wrapped it in newspaper, addressed with a slip of white paper and shipped it.
Now by the time it arrived in BC, all that was left was my Postal Code, and someone at Canada Post re-packaged it and sent it on to me.

I ordered a 590A1 9shot adjustable from epps in March. Still nothing. Apparently Mossberg is way behind. I was offered a refund or to keep my order and contact the supplier for further updates. Hopefully they send our shotties soon.
