Is anyone running an Elcan Specter DR on their M14?

Interesting site. Details? I read some on the web but it's like reading another language. HAHA. Benefits of this type of scope?

Interesting ... good in low light, from close encounters to reaching out ... could make for a good scope to use on a hunting M14 maybe??? Opinions!!!

I could see one working well on a hunting rig. Maybe not enough magnification for extended distances though.
They are available in 1-4 and a 1.5-6 power option. I have shot a C7 with a 1-4 DR on it. The issued Elcan optic doesn't even compare in any way. With a tiny bit of practice you can switch from 1 to 4 power without loosing your target, even while standing. The reticle on the DR is of the BDC variety, and the illumination of the reticle or the red dot is very nice.
I wish the price tag was a little lower than the 2200$ for the 1.5-6

LEO's, and anyone who serves can get them for 2000ish from DS Tactical.
The 1.5-6X is great out to about 400M when hunting, but not so much for the 1-4X....I use both optics to hunt...

My issue rifle has a specterDr on it. It's junk. It's actually in warranty repair right now. My agency should have bought acogs with an rmr on top of them. I have a very negative opinion of the specter. It doesn't retain a zero properly and it's heavy as hell. Your experiences may vary.
 
I'd really like to hear more reports on how the Spectre DR handles on a Norc M14 shorty including what type of mount. My thoughts are the DR and an ARMS 18 would be kind of hefty on an already hefty rifle. What says pbr streetgang? Have you hunted with this rig?

Personally I'm thinking a short dot scope in QR rings.
