What BUIS do you recommand?

I use the Magpul MBUS on my ACR and FS2000 because they're both mainly polymer anyway and I'm already running a 1-4x optic on both, so the degree of redundancy isn't necessarily as important.

Both great sights - can't really go wrong with either.

My SL8 have a similar setup. 1-4X Optic and the gun is in polymer. Maybe I should consider Magpul first. They seem good event if they are in plastic.

If they dont flip up when I command them, I recommand them.Sorry I had too.
I would say troy, or Magpul imho.

Buis

Lots of good ones out there...arms,midwest,troy etc...matter of personal preference.
I have a set of these YHM pushbutton flipups and really like them...low profile when not in use but easilly deployed, and good quality(I changed my front post for a fine one). A bit pricey though$300.ish for the set.

DD, KAC, Troy, Magpul, Midwest and a few others, are all ones I would run.

You aren't going to go wrong on any of them.

What suits your budget and style? Yes, style, because looks do matter to most of us with these things. ;)Also what is available within the time frame you want them?

On an SL8 though, if I was pushed to pick an option, it would be the Daniel Defense.

They look good on an SL8 :) And they work.

I have several different brands of folding rear sights on my ARs and here’s my opinions on them in no particular order…. Troy, YHM (old style and new style), ARMS, Wilson

I think everyone agrees that the Troy’s one of the best, both rugged and streamlined. They are hard to find and nobody seem to be able to keep them in stock here. Since they are over the $100 ITAR max they are hard to import.

The new style YHM are very similar to the Troy, but the old style YHMs are a little blocky…. But they both seem to work well. You can order the old style from Brownells since they are under the $100 ITAR max but the new style are over unless you get the wholesale price.

The ARMS 40 that I have works well, but it doesn’t fold as flat as the others.

The Wilson is a little blocky and square, but it is rugged almost to the point of being bulletproof…. Nothing is going to knock it off and it folds low. I got mine from Brownells last decade…. now they are over the $100 ITAR max they are hard to import.

It's a $200 limit for Canada.

Sorry I don't have it in writing, but have seen it stated several times on the board here. Someone more knowledgable on this subject will hopefully chime in.

I have the arms, well made sight. Maybe I'm missing something, why would you risk being flamed?

They have a less then stellar rep among the go-fast guys for durability. That is the main issue. I've had no problems with mine, but I respect the opinions of those who shoot at two-way ranges too. Sure can't ignore them...

Add to that the fact the owner #### Swan is a bit of a... douche? He trademarked a bunch of numbers (due to his numbering system) like '17'. He then went and sued LaRue for its use in his 'LT-170' mount. Weak sauce for sure. Even worse, he trademarked 5.56, 7.62, and .50BMG. Seems the guy wants to make money in court as opposed to making it selling products. I got my 40L long before I read about the way he conducts business. Not really itching to support him anymore unless that changes.

In short, much hate for ARMS out there as a result. Do a search for ARMS on Arf.com and M4 and you will see what I'm talking about.

Their mounts have had a lot of issues, but I don't know if their sights have had similar problems. Their stuff seems to vary in quality. Some of their throw levers have had a hard time either closing, or staying closed, depending on the phase of the moon when they were built or whatever. Some have been fine.

Personally I'm praying for a day when the Elcan mount is replaced by non-ARMS stuff so the mount issues will be permanently dealt with...but hard to say when or if that will ever happen.
