The BCRA AGM approaches.

This is where we get our dates from, and no, we don't get to pick whatever we want.

Based on the questionnaire handed out at the end of this years match, more people preferred the three day match to a two day match.

This thread is for you guys to have your say. What did you like? What did you not like? What do you want in the coming year.

Articulate your reasons and no bashing.

Thanks,

A 3 day match will make it worth my while to make the trip. I guess that means including sight-in it will be 4 days?

I have no particular preference on the length of the match but I will note that a long weekend match will tend to reduce the number of attendees, there being some that still want to remain married.

I have some objections to the current penalty system. I think it actually discourages people from taking chances to achieve better scores.

The only courses of fire that should have penalties are the ones where an unintended hit would have negative implications, such as the hostage situation, where a hit on the hostage should incur a penalty but a miss would not. Similarly, the hotel COF, where a hit on a good guy should have a penalty, but a miss should not.

Penalties on courses of fire like the 3-position or the Nut Check only encourage the competitor to take "safe" shots, thereby negating the spirit of the competition. A miss should be penalty enough, since it only effects the total high score and doesn't penalize the shooter for trying to do his best.

I also think that the pace of the match could be better; this could be done by modifying the scoring to only presenting scores at the end of the day and/or perhaps by bringing in the target pullers on sight-in day to familiarize them with the butts. This might also streamline the sight-in day by allowing f-class style indicating on the targets, which would speed up the process and help the kids understand how the butts work.

Hello All,

I have purposely stayed out of all discussions to allow all to Voice concerns and complaints, and to avoid my opinions shading or influencing any discussions .That being said I have compiled a List of Changes based on my observations as well as from listening to and reading imput from competitors that will be implemented in next years event. To include For example changes / additional rules to preclude such HORSE S#%T as pushing bipod feet into ground 3" ( every year some #}*+£>% gets clever and the rules grow in length and breadth .)

As for dates and duration of match... I will know more at AGM and will relate said dates soonest, I will also endeavor to have course of fire and all amended changes posted before
Late December although I am positive I won't please everyone I do hope I can please the
Majority.of course this is all based on being reelected to the position again , See you at the AGM

PS.
I will be away for personal reasons for several days and will not be able
To respond until Sunday/Monday
Thanks
Ed

Now, why didn't I think of that ???

Hahahahahaha...awesome!

Some good stuff so far, keep it coming guys.

FWIW, always room for volunteers to help out with the match, ESPECIALLY someone to help with OR take over marketing and sponsorship. Trying to run it from the other side of the world is proving....difficult.

Well considering a grand total of one person showed up at the agm to show support we are lucky to get a match at all.

Once again we were raked over the coals because some people, despite being told not to, just HAD to drink on dnd property. Maybe when we get kicked off the range permanently the a$$hats will get it.

I'm gonna guess that the lack of interest in attending the agm to show support will carry over to volunteers to help organize and set up the match for 2012.

So very weary of the lack of substance.

Outstanding ! Great dates and I'm looking forward to being there. Have promised my partner that I will use locktite on the scope rings this year :)

Told some other lads to get out and try this - most fun they will have with a firearm in 2012. To be precise, what I actually told them is : "Tac-Rifle is to F-Class what Grade 12 ### with Mary-Jane Rautenkrautch is to a hungover wank on a Sunday morning" :dancingbanana:

I'm pumped to attend this. Is there room for a tactical rifle newbie? I'll leave the enfields at home. I'm sure hoping this this shoot lands in close proximity to Service Rifle because it will be a 2 day drive for me just to get there.

Hello Riflechair,

New shooters are always welcome ,we all started new at one point or another in one discipline or another . As for service conditions match they will be held June 1,2,3 at Volkes

Not cool on people not showing up to the AGM, but also not surprising. I had no idea when it was (not even sure I renewed actually), but even in the years I was a member the information sent out regarding dates for anything was pathetic. Were it not for the efforts of people like Ed and John and those before them, I don't see how the BCRA would experience any new members.
Sorry for the hijack.

Easy to fix..............state right on the entry forms that anyone caught with any type of alcoholic beverage on DND property will be immediately disqualified and ask to leave the range............and could be subject to being banned from future Tac Rifle Matches........

They were told dude. Once everyone left for the day some of the people that were camping on the range decided it was happy hour.

To be fair, since they are special AND more important than most, they probably assumed the rules didn't apply to them.

Did I say a$$hats?
