ARMS 18 on Norinco Shorty (with pics!)

I previously tried to use this mount on my other Norinco and the receiver was so far out of spec that the only way to line it up with the bore was by shimming it.

But I figured I should give it a try on my new shorty and, wonder of wonders, it lined up nicely. Does seem to have a bit of cant, but I can live with that. Here's a few pics of the mount with a Vortex Sparc installed.

Yep, snow. It's that time of year.

It would have to be even taller than the tall Norinco shorty front sight.

No, I don't tilt my rifle when I shoot it. The rail is canted a few degrees off of horizontal when installed. Like I said in my first post, at least it's usable on this rifle.
