I would like to start this so everyone can understand better new upcoming rules starting January 2012.
I try to follow GV as much as I can, but some of you are better in seeing the changes. Can you please tell me and everyone else who don't follow GV so close what are the new changes in 2012 Rule Book.
My intention is to understand rules not to go after rule makers. They have been voted in and now I need to understand them.
Thanks

Peter, a marked up rules been posted on IPSC Ontario for some time. Removal and additions marked with striketrough and underline accordingly.

Uhm, I'm pretty sure he's on topic. A marked up version is a pretty good place to start if you ask me. In your words, you wanted to know "what are the new changes in 2012 Rule Book." Well there you have it.

Okay boys, simmer down.

I tried a similar thing over at IPSC Alberta, which also received a cool reception. The gist being that the time for discussion is over. However, Peter, I see your point. Most IPSC members would not have considered the changes anyway, until now.

Here are the main changes:

Some significant changes that many of us should start to practise, and make routine, include:

- No more dry firing and/or taking a sight picture at the LAMR command. For the Open guys, this means setting your dot before you begin the COF. Although word has it that you can still aim at the berm. To be confirmed.

- No more cross-country.

- No more 1m rule when drawing your gun, facing uprange. It still applies when facing downrange.

Hope this helps.

Peter, I don' know what you had in mind, but hope you haven't expected copy paste of all rule changes up here and copying just some of them doesn't make sense. Anyways, as an RO you are required to be familiar with all rule changes.

Eugene,
I told you stay on topic, you have nothing to say then say nada, and do not try to tell me what to do, you are not helping at all, ... like always:slap:

I am helping you. Read the damn book, sily. :slap:

How do you know I didn't read it and noticed few errors??
You are asuming things to fast.
There are so many shooters who will never read it. They have general idea about rules but this year there are few major changes.
This post is for them, not for you or me.

:slap: Durag :D

Of course there is the argument that if the general membership aren't going to read the new rulebook, they aren't reading Global Village or Gunnutz either.
