7mm-300wby

I am having one of my rifles rebarreled to a 7mm-300wby. Just wondering if anyone has reloaded for this wildcat. If so what worked best for you

in terms of case capacity it should be very close to the 7mm stw .

i don't have any of my books near by , but i'm thinking it might be close enough that a person could interchange reloading info between the 2 ......

H870 and H1000. It is the ballistic twin of the 7 STW. You can use the STW data I am sure, assuming you are having your rifle built with the traditional Wby freebore. - dan

No free bore. I am building it because its to hard finding STW brass

for the stw , you can use 300 H&H , 300 weatherby , 8mm remington , 340 weatherby , 375 H&H , and 375 weatherby for brass ...... just neck it down to 7mm and fireform it , having it headspace on the rim ....... assuming that a person can't find 7mm stw brass .

I've had 3 STWs, not trying to be a smart ass but you ever see 7-300WBY brass? Hahaha Go STW man, very accurate round and goes way faster than a 7mm Rem.

I saw several new 7mmstw cases in three locations last week,I never have problems finding it.

Last time I bought STW brass, they were less then $1 each. I had a 7mm-300 wby back in the day, Hagel's writings convinced me it would be the hammer of Thor. Mine was a fussy eater, and was only accurate with lighter bullets (for reasons I still don't understand). When the STW came along in the late 80's I built one of those. It was more accurate, but not quite as fast (no freebore). But we're talking tiny differences. If the radiused shoulder works for you go for it. But it will be a custom reamer, custom dies (RCBS makes them) and the brass is more expensive. Hunting rifles don't use much brass though, so that's a none starter, really. Have fun. - dan

I'd probably go 7mm RUM before the STW or the 7-300Wby. Easy to get brass and a real increase in velocity over the 7RM.

I used IMR 7828 in my 7-300 WBY with both 150 and 175 Nosler Partitions. Also, I used 300 H&H Winchester brass and fired formed it using cheam of wheat. I had mine before the STW came out but when it did I was surprised to find it was using the loads I had worked up in my 7-300 rifle. Very flat shooting and great for a sheep rifle! Steve
