Anyone Else Itching for Their New NEA-15?

down here yes,
also that if there's a problem we won't have as much red tape US state dept fees and BS to deal with (know of one guy bought a RRA AR15 had a 5.88mm barrel for a .223 .224 projectiles would literally fall through it took 7 months of paperwork to send it back for Warrentee replacement of the barrel he was with out it for 8 months in addition to the 4 months of owning a non working rifle)

Mate, email him now and get on that list. Who knows how long it will take for the sample to be cleared by Police armoury. February or March is a realistic time for the first shipment anyway. Besides, there is so much interest that if you don't have the funds at the time, there will be someone else more than willing to take your place.

I'm on the list too, but I hope they've arrived a damn sight sooner than Feb/March. By then the proposed law changes will have passed and it is fairly likely they'll be E-Cats, and there will be a whole heap more hoops to jump through to get them.... I'd prefer mine hand-in free if possible.

TBH, if they aren't on the horizon by December, I'll probably just have to bite the bullet and look for something else as I want to get an AR into the safe before the Police go full retard with their swanky new regulatory powers in the new year... :(

put my name on the list for February hopefully second shipment arrives then. but i doubt the police will let anything in until after the election the only thing that would change (immediately anyway) would be regarding the free standing grips just have to put a thumb hole stock on it or fork out $500-$1000 for a hand in (if E cat is a option)

Which would work out to be around the same price as buying an A Cat RRA now. I want an NEA, I really, really want an NEA and to reward a company that is prepared to take a risk on something new and quite exciting, but at some point the cost/benefit side of things just won't stack up any more... A shipment in the next few weeks will absolutely fly out the door, Feb/Mar might just be late enough to miss a great opportunity for NZ shooters.

We can only hope. Though I do believe that Police will stall for as long as possible. I've been running through the same thought process as you and have picked up a couple of sks carbines as possible future e-cat hand-ins. For what it's worth, the hand in policy is also being challenged in Court, but has stalled pending the new legislation.

I might check with Ken and see how he's getting on. He may need to get Richard Lincoln onto this one.

Last I heard, the delay was getting approval to export at the Canadian end. Hopefully the rubber stamp gets deployed soon :)

The Police armoury has traditionally taken around a week to give the ok on a new model of rifle. They're already familiar with the AR platform so can't really claim that it is anything new or different and delay on that ground.

We have just heard today that approval has been granted at the Canadian end. We were also informed that there wont be any delays in regards to NZ Police Armory when we obtained the import permit.

Thanks for that. I'm definitely waiting for the NEA, looks like a really neat gun for the money.

OK back on topic now...my itch is getting worse!

Great to hear of a few guys taking delivery but now I am starting to feel not just like a kid waiting for Christmas morning, but like a kid who finds out Christmas comes earlier in Alberta! ;)

My itch was so bad that i drove to Target Sports to get mine.
I just could not wait.
You are going to love your NEA15.

nor could i, even called digit several times to ask when he could ship it out (was hoping to hear "yup its ready now i'll ship it to you and you should have it Saturday." in reality i figured they wouldn't be sent out till monday or tuesday and that seems to be the case. still went out last night to see what i could have shot with it had it arrived. the answer was i would have shot a Wallaby :)

You're all going to hate the NEA. You won't like it at all. You have all wasted your money on the Magpul bolt-on goodies.

Send all of your wasted products to me, I'll put them to good use on my 14.5 and save you the pain of waiting for your own rifles. I'll post you pics to show how much you wouldn't have liked it.

You'll thank me, really :D

Tell me aboot it, spent 500+ today alone on a tpod/battlecomp/s3g and I don't even have my rpal yet! Wife is gonna freak soon :D
