Things you see on your way back home from a hunt..

Passed a pickup on the QEW/403 (toronto, hamilton area) on Tuesday, four legs stickin straight up out of the bed of the truck. Must have been 4:30pm or so. Gave him a thumbs up, but I'm sure some others weren't that impressed by it.

Maybe lay it on a giant piece of styrafoam and wrap it in saran wrap? People don't seem to be nearly as concerned when meat comes that way.

By law in Wisconsin all deer must be transported readily visible from a distance. Throw one in the back of a half-ton and you have to leave the tailgate down. Ask me how I know.
Gotta love a state where no one goes to school next week--the teachers are all deer huntin.

I have seen plently of deer in trunks that are open but never one of a roof I want to!

But i have seen a few moose heads on grills of trucks or on the top of the cab. LOL

Last year around Nov I saw a truck with a trailer at the beer store in Oakville with a bulls head on the grill. I waited outside and congratulated the hunters. Told me a beif story of it aswell!

Every time i see an animal that a fellow hunter has harvested I always honk and give the thumbs up!

At home in garage skinning my deer, door open, the what i thought was a stuck up neighbor comes home, and there kid ask`s whats that. Mom without skipping a beat goes that is where meat comes from. Her husband comes out a bit later and says he used to hunt in Saskatchewan as a kid but not since getting married. I thought he was a city slicker that drove BMW`s, apparently his wife has a mount of a mulie she shot that measured just under 180!!

A guy I used to work with would pull over before he got to PA and hang the deer heads over the tailgate and make sure the tongue was hanging out really good and then go across the Dief bridge and up Second and cruise around a bit before going home. Said he like to see the kids expressions when they drove by with mom and dad. He was a little demented.

Right near the casino de Hull (practically downtown Ottawa), I saw a buck strapped on the seat of a four wheeler like he was riding it.

KDX:

My Friend and I Loaded up a moose and a Whitetail doe in his Monte Carlo back in 1986.
Stopped at the Seven Eleven in P.A. after we got back from Montreal lake.
That poor car had a huge load and a bad mess in the back!
Good times! GOOOOD times!!! LOL!

One time I didn't have a truck at my disposal so the deer went on the roof of a white '92 Festiva. I made it home.

Wasn't there but.. dad had a deer in the back of the truck, they were heading to the one guys house and there was blood all over the bumper and blood leaking. So they see one OPP car behind them but think nothing of it, then a 2nd comes from another road, and by time they pull up to the guy's house 4 cars pull up right on them to inspect it LOL. Was gonna bust a big case :ar15:

Growing up and living in Saskatchewan you see all kinds. I have seen a mule buck strapped to the roof of a Jeep Cherokee, and a whitetail doe stuffed in between the grill and the push bar on some little Honda SUV. Where I grew up everyone would stop in town for lunch during deer season at the bar and everyone would leave the tailgate down to show off their deer.
I am sure we must have gotten some calls on ourselves one time when we came back from a C.W.D. hunt. We had 5 of us in the f-350 and 14 deer in the back. We couldn't open the tailgate after about 8 so we would swing the does and toss them up on top of the pile. We hauled our load right down the number one highway. There was heads and feet hanging out everywhere. It must have cost me $15 to wash all the blood out of the truck. We took them to my buddies garage and were busy skinning deer when his neighbor drove past and stopped. The first words from his mouth were "I think I just caught me some poachers" we had a good laugh over his statement then explained that we were legal and they want us shooting this many deer. I ate deer sausage everyday for the next year after that hunt.

I stuffed a buck in the back of my wifes jeep compass once. She never complained about the cost of fuel when i take my truck out hunting again.

I got a couple looks on the drive to the butchers.. But not as many as I thought I would.
