A fello GunNut'er is looking for a BLR in 257 Bob. Does anyone have one, be it for sale or not? My buddy Doug has had 2 of them over time. He believes that only 2 are reg in Canada. I have one of them. Where is the other one? Or are there more out there? I did see one in the Canadian Access newspaper quite a while ago. Has anyone got that old issue? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thx in advance.

There was one on the EE last year a couple times, in Rainy River maybe.
The BLR was chambered in .257 Roberts for a few years....chances of only 2 in Canada is slim to none. Two HUNDRED, maybe.

Not that it helps but I saw one 15 years ago in central BC there are more around than you think. The guy who owned it wouldn't sell it to me no matter how hard I begged. If you find more than one drop me a pm I would be interested in purchasing one as well. Good luck with the search Jed

I know where there is one here in NB and have seen another, so there must be at leat two in Canada. ;)

As much as I like the Roberts, I think you're better off just buying a BLR in 308. Some BLRs require SB dies and I'm not sure you can get them in 257R.

The one that I have came from an owner in B.C., about 5 yrs ago. I think his first name was Rob, or maybe Rob was the dude that was selling it on consignment, but can't remember for sure. I do remember something about him buying it for his wife, have forgotten the rest of the story on that. Thx for the tip, Jed.

How long ago did you see the other one, SuperCub? When Doug owned the 2 known reg in Canada ones, I believe he reloaded for them. I'll check with him about those dies. Thanks.

I work with one fellow that owns one and the other I saw in a gunstore many years. The second one was weird as it didn't have sights on it from the factory. I've never heard or seen since a BLR w/o sights from the factory.

I have had one for more than 5 years now and I have seen 2 in Ontario in the last 3 years,
both at the same gun show,
I think that is about 5 or six now that we know about.
Great rifle and caliber and will be keeping mine.
As far as reloading, I use a standard set of Lee dies with no problem. That being said I do have a set of RCBS dies if anyone is interested.
