Butler creek folding stock and Ati strikeforce. need advice.

Bit by the 10/22 bug again. My first project was my sr 22, but I would like something lighter. I know regardless i'll change the bolt buffer, hammer, put in an auto bolt lock, an extractor and if need be extended mag release. But I haven't decided what kind of stock I want to use. Butler creek folding stock or an ATI strikeforce. Can any one tell me a little more about these stocks?
 
I've never seen the ATI but I have held the BC one. The lock up seems good on the folding mechanism but I don't like the loose fit of the reciever in the stock. I also don't like how uncomfortable they are on the cheek. The action can be pinned or bedded in the stock which would help quite a bit. I was thinking of building a folding backpacker but I decided on a compact no folder instead. I'm going with a full-stock and 12" barrel.
 
ATI is cheap flimsy and IMHO not worth a damn thing!

The BC folder is very lightweight, and feels good. Works well, and is not a bad option. Cheek weld is an issue, and a short LOP.

Does it have to be a folder?

The Tapco is very nice, and I would recommend it.
 
If you can find one, I think Choate makes the best folding stock. A big second to Butler Creek. I'm not familiar with the offering from ATI, but I've never been a fan of their products since my past experiences with their stocks. YMMV
 
ati folds to the left, not the right if that matters to you. I prefer the butler creek but get the marauder if you want a folder.
 
man that's what i love about this sight. Many fellow gun nutters have been there and done that. As for the ATI....sigh I knew it was to good to be true. I almost bought a collapsible ati stock for my 870, i thought it was cheap. I did think about the tapco but I've heard mixed things about them. look cool though.

yeah i knew the cheek weld would be an issue sigh cons and pro are being weighed lol.
 
I think I would just like a light 10/22 with a pistolgrip. I'm not a fan of the marauder, the archangel 556 reminds me of my sr-22. I like butler creek folder, and the archangel target stock looks bad ass. Decisions, decisions.
 
I have an ATI. Some molding flash might distract you, good metal threaded inserts for the screws, adjustable cheek riser works for my low scope rings and the very high ones as well.

Don't much like taking out the 6 screws to remove the receiver but with the metal inserts there's no wear to worry about.
It would be nice to have storage in the grip but it's just hollow with no cap.
Cheap plastic side and underside rails.

I like it. 7 out of 10
