M305 shorty mods?

LOL...I seem to recall several posts on CanadaAmmo's site wondering if the new shorties came with Bayo lugs...and at an M14 seminar I attended about half didn't get lugs on their older M305s, so IMHO there is a demand for the lug, but I fully realize none of us will ever have to"fix bayonets!":D

I believe Machman assumed you had a FH with a real bayonet lug, not the Norinco fake lug.

Tengoo, I can't believe you hacksawed off your bayo mount  You should have swapped it on the EE with some poor, unfortunate CGNer whose Norc never came with a bayo mount :D

Because they'd need it for all the close quarters combat we have on the front lines here in Canada..............:D

I got mine this week. A lot of oil over eveything but it looks as good as some of the original M14s that I saw in the 70s and 80s. Very surprising! The manual is an exact copy from Springfield and even mentions Springfield and Springfield tools!

I have guests this weekend so no shooting. I will do groups next week with commercial ammo so that I can have the brass for handloads. I will photograph all the groups as soon as a mod is done. The Sadlak spring guide rod is on its way. I will check the spring and then the gas system. I saw that the national Match Sadlak gas system is NOT to be used with lower pressure military ammo! So before I go that route, I will find a load that works.

Regards,
Henry;)
