Promags new 9-22 (Ruger) mag review.

Yes, the one without the shell will work in any 10/22, some will work with the shell on, the shell is easily removed, for the $5 more, you can try the shell, even if you have to modify or use it on a project!

Then we can make a 10/22 look like a Mini-14... that'd be cool

If you have purchased a Marauder kit from us, We are going to warranty the faulty feed lip issues by sending you a free set of feed lips with any other order. Please do not ask for a set if you have not purchased the kit from us , we only have a limited amount available & they are for the kits we have already sold. Thanks.

I just ordered 2 mags with the sleeve for my new SR-22. Can't wait to widdle them down and see how it looks! Thanks for the quick service!

I received my 2 mags from you today. Im having trouble with them. I cant get them to fit into my 10/22 marauder with an older receiver .Im sure its the new steel pin they used on them. I notice the steel pin sticks out alot more than my BC or factory mags. Also alot more than the original marauder mag.
I did get one to work in my other 10/22 archangel 556. It functioned perfect. Way easier to load and I shot 20 cci standards without a hiccup. :)

Should i file the steel pin down or is there a better to make it stick out less?

They are making these new mags tight for reliability & different tolerances on the 10/22s. Try inserting them a few times without the sleeve
& you will probably find them starting to loosen up, if not then they have some extra to fit with, just file a bit & try often. Its better to have them reliably & tight & the ability to fit them, than loose & sloppy!

Do this in the reverse order:

insert the mag at an angle, then pull it towards you once the front steel pin is in the front notch in the mag well. That's where the hang up is.

well filed both of them and got them in barely. i then used Bonjour43ma technique and got them to work but still very very tight. I still think its too tight so I ll file it a little more. Only problem with cycling ammo is just the 1st bullet. After the 1st one , the rest cycle perfectly.

How many rounds did you put in the mag? I find that it will fit 26 rounds if i forced it in, but it seems to run more reliably between 23~25 rounds.

CCI Blazer+AA922 mag=love

Finally had a chance to get to the range with the Marauder. On mag issues, I had none... with CCI Blazer ammo. It fed flawlessly and had no FTFs/ FTEs. It absolutely loves that stuff.
Federal had one FTE and a couple FTFs. My friend had some Remington ammo and it absolutely HATES that stuff, will not feed... at all... and won’t even sit right in the mag… horrible crap.

So, I’ll definitely be stocking up on some CCI Blazer. If you’re having feed problems with the factory mag, try some CCI and see if it works.

Got my Gen 2 mags today...

... (2 of) from HiCal (thanks!) and just finished test fitting them in my Marauder.
Others have stated the new mags fit very tight to the point of having to file the front pin some to get them in. Not so with mine, they fit like a glove (tilt in and, click!).
I loaded up 20 rounds each and even this seems to load a little easier… still stiff at 20 rounds, so I’ll still wait till the spring breaks in before attempting 25 rounds. The recessed feed control spring is nice too and as advertised, it does not rip up your thumb when loading the mag.

All in all, happy camper.

BTW, did anyone else read on the enclosed paper for the mags that they will be releasing a magazine clamp for these? It's item AA114 and I assume it clamps two mags together similar to real H&K G-36 ones. Another fun feature for speed mag changes.
