Upgrade Stock For Sps Tactical

Hey guys, first post here so go easy.

Im looking for a replacement stock for my BDL SA Remington Sps Tactical (308) Currently its a mixup between a Bell and Carlson Medalist/Tactical, a HS Precision 035, and a Choate "tactical" stock. What are your guys's thoughts on these and if you could point me in the right direction that would be awesome!

I would go with the Bell and Carlson out of those 3. I have the B&C on my 223 tactical and it works great..the Choate isn't the best, way to much flex IMO..HS is ok but the B&C grip is more vertical and better fit to your hand..I have a McMillan A5 on my 308 and it is awesome...very similar geometry to the Bell and Carlson.
 
I compete with the Choate tactical custom on my F TR rifles. Works very well and nothing 'soft' about it. Built like a tank.

I will be able to offer BC medalist target stocks shortly. The ones I have seen were very nice.

I am working on a chassis system that will use AR furniture. Hope to get the first one coming in a few weeks. Will be able to offer a wide range of AR furniture in the near future too.

More options all the time. Just let me know...

Jerry is right the Choate is built like a tank. No way it flexes. I'm talking about the new Choate tactical stock. Maybe your thinking of another stock from Choate?
 
The choate tactical is a real winner IMHO, but is pretty heavy. Also can't be painted AKAIK. My order of preference would be HS, B and C then Choate Tactical, BUT they are all very close. If price is a consideration then I would give choate an edge. The totally dressed out vertical grip versions from b and c and HS run about 150$ more then the choate tactical custom.
 
I will redo one of my choate tacticals and give it a paint job. I am thinking it will respond to any paint suitable for plastics like fiberglass.

We shall see....

If all else fails, duracoat will get it done.

Yeah I must be...I don't know the model but guys I shot said it was a "tactical" or "tactical sniper"? He didn't seem happy with it and asked if I wanted to shoot it..it just felt light a flimsy so obviously a different stock..prob about a year ago when I shot it.
 
I don't have any experience with the Choate, however, I did compare the B&C and HS when I was looking to replace my Hogue. I found the HS very solid but I couldn't get use to the huge palm swell. The B&C fit me like a glove and it is a very solid stock. I have been using it for nearly two years now and love it. In fact my next Target Tactical will get a B&C as well. Try them all out, and see which one fits you

Will this chassis system be for Remingtons or will it accomodate Savage rifles? I like the idea of making my hunting rifle look a little more tacticool.

Had to make a new account because my last one wasnt working for some reason? Thanks for all the feedback everyone, Im really liking the choate because of the v groove bedding block and the rear butthook. I would still have to skim bed the stock would i not? Almost have the money to afford my rings and rail so I can mount the mark 4 on her, then all she needs is her stock and shes built!
 
Yep, skim bed ALL alum bed stocks (for good measure bed all stocks).

Doesn't look like the company wants to follow through on the US license. Oh well.

B&C, choate, Boyds (kind of), HS, MCM and maybe a few others should become available in the near future.

Just keep an eye on my dealer forum. I am waiting on paperwork so heaven only knows if/what will be approved.

Sorry to ask so many damn questions but MDT chassis's are machined here in chillowack I think. What are your thoughts on the chassis? Avalability is probably a lot better than other stocks in the lower mainland right now. Just throwing ideas out there...

I think the HS th OP listed is the vertical grip. I got one of these for my savage from Sean (JuanValdez) a little while ago and I am very pleased with it. Maybe you are thinking of a different HS.

Those B&Cs look like a good deal that Sean is selling.

I think you got 2 out of 2 wrong.
 
I have had the guys at cobra imaging do it.
But I am also thinking about selling that gun :( (308win rem700 xcr tactical)
