Hey Everyone just trying to get an Idea if the Whitetail are Rutting hard or what have you guys seen in your areas. I'm in Northern Alberta havent noticed the deer rutting too hard a few small bucks chasing does no major action yet though:stirthepot2:

It is definitely started, not peaked yet but with the cooler weather in AB it is starting to take off hard - saw more sign in the fresh snow this morning than I saw in the last week. The major rut has started here, now is the time to get out there and look for deer.

Should be going hard in the next day or two, still weren't into it yet on the weekend but they are stating to move during the day but kinda still feeding.

Not in crazy hump mode quite yet.

I think it is just getting going in South Central MB.

Just saw a buck with a doe that was resting just on the west edge of Brandon still in city limits. It was neat to see him standing guard over her just as heis getting ready to pour the coal to her. Hopefully they do not get hit by vehicles...

At the farm just started seeing scrapes this past Monday......

Often takes a cold snap to get the real rut going. Usually when a noteable increase in road killed bucks start showing up some say.

Haven't noticed any real rut activity (Eastern Ontario). Two bucks taken in the last week didn't stink, weren't chasing does. Not many bucks at the butcher so far. Things have been slow this year for me, I blame the unseasonably hot weather.

Took mine Monday AM. All by himself. No stink at all. Double lung shot with 243 and 88gr Berger at about 45 yards. Went about 85 yards and piled up. Cavity FULL of blood. 5X5 grossed around 148.

I know he will be a good eater.

Now to keep tabs on the rest of the herd at the farm and hope the other 4 young bucks make it thru the season un-scathed.....

I love my trail cameras........

They're running around like crazy up here. This one came close enough for me today.

Rut ...what rut

I was getting ready to ask the same question..... we haven't really seen any sign of rut in SW Ontario between Windsor and Chatham .....am I blind or what ...... you see a few does here and there ...saw a huge buck in the dark by the time I could shoot he was 60 yds out could not get a shot and he would not come back......a doe call then a grunt. Nothing worked

Any thoughts
