should i sell my mini-14 to buy a su-16?

For $600 CAD the SU16 would be the best deal in Canada for an non-restricted ar compliant rifle @ $800 base model I think vault dropped the ball. As far as wieght, accuracy & modding I think it's a no brainer that the SU16 wins hands down. But then again in Canada the base models for the Mini 14 is around $700. I had there top of the line target version. Yep it was nice but felt like an anchor. But what it all comes down to is personal preferance. and mine is a M14 or an SU16 not a hybrid between the 2.

I've only shot a Mini Rancher and it was decent accurate and such but felt like holding a regular semi-automatic rifle. Not bad but meh!! I have now fired my Kel Tec and muuuuuuch prefer the feeling of it. Same caliber and kick and such but the fun factor is bigger!!

I'd own both though but I'd be puttin' the Mini in a ProMag Sparta frame........whenever they get that one done!!

il start with wow nice su16. the my beef with the mini 14 the look, but also the feel. I can understand that my 6.5 lbs cz 858 is less heavy to carry and with the sling on the side carries alot beter then the mini. But wen enven, with the scope, my 9 pound rfb feel the same weight and feel alot easyer to carrie( got a single point sling) then my little mini I got a problem!

so yes i'm looking at getting the sparta as soon as it comes out

Weight does play a big part in how a rifle feels to carry and wield. I've shot a few fully loaded 16" barrel AR's and with all the rails and sites and dots and such, they can get pretty heavy. I got a CZ858 and put on only red dot and flip iron sites and the weight made it easy to carry and shoot. The Kel Tec filled the light weight bill also and now I have 2 rifles in 2 popular military calibers. Both a lot of fun. I would like to try out the RFB though.

I kept my cz naked stock its lighter, but boy does your loom good to... I your su 16 looks even beter with the folded bi pod.

the rfb well even eith the weight its a dream to carry! plus if you think about it 8.2 lbs is lighter then a sks ,ak or acr but alot shorter... its easely my most expansive gun but my favrite by far with my cz as second

I got it from a place called airsoft-club.com. It came threaded for 14 clockwise and 14 counterclock so it can be used on both rifles. I actually have another one on the way so both rifles can have one of their own. I'm happy that both rifles are non-restricted but the looooong barrel looks a little funny. The shrouds are a nice way to dress them for business.

do you think the blast from a 308 would be to much for the face can?
I have mine completely over the barrel so the actual blast doesn't go through the shroud. If done that way I can't see an issue. If you screwed it on the end and had the gases going through it, problems might occur. The material used on it wasn't designed for those kinds of force.
