You mean the part where someone suggests coaching a reference.....or a few members suggesting that we're all lying, that we don't really have handguns for target shooting.......or how the OP seems to have at least 2 and maybe 3 personality/writing styles( one with ESL)??

I am has wtf moments with this stories too.;)

I think the part to clarify here is some peoples poor choice of words. Re coaching. In reality all of your references should know why you are getting your firearms license. It's poor wording to call it coaching. It's just letting people, that have known you for a long time, what your intentions are. It's common sense.

Re the OP. If his poor decision was to pick somebody as a reference that doesn't really know him. Sucks to be him. He's just gonna have to ride it out and see what happens.

If he took the RPAL course, read all the material and passed the test only to end up telling one of his references he secretly wants to sit behind his front door with a loaded handgun(for self defense)... good... I'm glad I wont have him standing beside me at the range.

Not trying to feed a troll here... just trying to let future RPAL applicants know that we don't HAVE to be competitive shooters or even target practice with them. It's better if we do use them but in reality we can just buy them and put them in a safe. End of story. It's our right.
