What presses for .338L?

Any press that will handle full length magnum cases WILL work with the LM. Meaning all presses.

If interested in a rock chucker, I can make you a good deal on a new "supreme" unit.

the BMG is another story and here presses like the Lee Classic Cast are great values.

The life of the 408 CT is pretty much toast as the sole brass supplier looks to have closed its doors.

I use a Lee Classic Cast or an Ammomaster for my 338 Lapua Imp., both are plenty rugged and have more than adequate opening for the longest cartridges. :)
 
I have 2 of the original rockchuckers and the die hole at the top just doesn't look big enough. Mind you I don't have dies to put in it yet to see for sure. I'm pretty sure the supreme has a bigger die hole at the top than the old one.
 
As Dan said the thread size of the dies will be the same, however the problem with my old Rockchucker was that the press opening itself was too small.
When seating bullets I had to put the case in the shell holder and crank the seater die out and set a bullet over the case and thread the seater die back in.... tedious work.

My Redding dies for the 338 Lapua Imp. will not clear the yoke on my Forster rendering it useless for the Lapua and other long rounds like the 45- 3 1/4 ".
Its ok though for 30-06 length rounds and shorter... :)

Which version of the Co-Ax do you have? B-3 or B-2? Because the B-2's had relatively less clearance on the top.
 
A b2 Co-AX will work with Redding S die set (competition seater die) in 338LM. I have reloaded more than 1,500 rounds of 338LM using this setup. You simply need to insert the bullet into the seating die on an angle before the seating stroke. Very easy.

None of the rounds that I have checked on a Sinclair runout gauge (1 every 50 +/-) have measured more than 0.001 using this set-up.
 
I reload 416 Rigby (Lapua parent case) in my Rickchucker. As well as the 470 NE which is a long toad of a case. A larger opening would be nicer as you pretty well have to stick the bullet into the die then put the case in under it before you seat. A Redding Big Boss would be much better. Anyone want to trade a Big Boss for a Rockchucker?
 
If anyone thinks their current press is too small for the task go out and buy the Redding Ultramag.
Loading 338/378 Weatherby on an Ultramag is like loading .243 Winchester in a Rockchucker.

Push the bullet up inside the seater die then put the brass in the shell holder while you hold the bullet.
