VZ 58 Muzzle Devices [PIC HEAVY]

When I bought my 858 it came with an AKM-Style brake, however it's a bit different than the one pictured above.

The extra ring milled around the middle is I think the only difference, but it's different none-the-less.
And yes, overcompensation is still a major issue with this on the 858.

Thank you for the pics - I'll add it to the 1st post. Can you tell me is there a "step" on the inside of the comp, or is the inside flat all the way to the leading edge?

PS, can we get a sticky on this?:D

While not a factory flash hider it is quite easy to make. Simply shorten a metric fal flash hider and add a notch for the detent, the threads are the same. Plus you can attach a fal bayonet as well.

Yes, there is. I'll take some better photos in the day light tomorrow with a real camera :)

^^^It's a copy I had made of a Bravo 18 AK flash hider. They didn't make one for the VZ 58 and I was interested to see how it would perform. I wasn't overly impressed. It looks cool though.

Clobb, Dlask has changed the AKM, it now has only 3 index detents. I havent shot the earlier model but I remember someone posting that Dlask said the AKM in the vid was not indexed correctly. I run mine indexed to the right and it works very well without overcompensation, the muzzle stays on target pretty good.

Non-Res bbl, or one of the shorter carbines?

Pretty sure Dlask has a sweet bridge for sale too. :D

All jokes aside, that guy is gonna have to make a new video with it indexed correctly and showing muzzle displacement in both the vertical and lateral directions. Maybe do a comparison between another muzzle-brake and/or no brake.

Click on the photos for video..

I did these more than a year ago..the Dlask AKM break works very well. Note the amount of muzzle flip vs it and with no muzzle device. The third device it the Dlask A6. It's performance is outstanding.
