At the Milcun clinic I watched Hungry install one of these on sgmackin,s rifle , Hungry highly recommended them .... Well it arrived today from h ttp://turnersling.com/and I am very impressed with it and shipping was only $10.58 to Ont for a total of $66.53 delivered , I bought the AWS (all weather sling 50-52 in) in olive drab , its made of biothane and what a great piece of kit.
I am not sure I have it together correctly but it does lock up above my bicep the way its supposed to .What a difference while in the prone position ..as it helps keep the rifle very steady .

Nice, but would look better on my rifle :D

Hey I knew that sounded familiar so I checked my posts and I used that line on you when you stole the docs ultimak rail out from under me ...OK thats the way I remember it anyway. :)
And no it wouldnt look better on yours ...

I had to modify the ultimak to get it to fit right on my Shorty but I am very impressed with it .
The Busnell TRS-25 will cowitness the iron sights .And check out how well the sling keepers are made in the pic

Sling assembly not quite correct. Google M14 sling 1907 (or some such variation) for pics of correct assembly. There's also youtube presentations.

Hey, I just got mine in too! Same colour, but got the longer one for my gangly arms. So the knock-off leather sling is going onto the backup Norc.

Comparing the two slings side by side (Turner Saddlery vs. No-name "Milsco" 1907 sling from U.S. ebay seller), the Turner is far and away so better in quality that if the Turner could talk it would say it's insulted to be in the same gun locker as the other. I'm kicking myself for even buying the cheap leather one now (I'm sure Turner makes an awesome leather sling though). The stitching is bombproof. There's no need to break it in. There's no stretch. The hooks are absolutely solid (the ones on the cheapo leather are very soft). Best of all, you can sling in super hard to achieve a much more solid position than with the cheapo leather. The keepers don't slip. It's a sling that'll certainly last a lifetime for only a little more money.

I just noticed they are kinda Gangly...while the other two behind you look in perfect perportion ...and they are demonstrating great form as well

And in these pics if I remember correctly Hungry was commenting on it and pointing and laughing at your freakishly long arms;)

That Turner sling like the Leslie Tam sling (Hawaii) is pure 'sling ####'. These are the last slings that you will ever buy or need for your M1Garand or M14 or M1A ! Life is great with these slings. It's a purchase you will never regret!

Save yer money up for one of these!

Ok I checked out youtube and found a few ways to install the sling.
This is how I have it on now .

I found these videos on using a sling while looking around and thought they were pretty good.
If anyone else has some more info or videos could you add them to this thread ...

Looks nice, and might be the end to my search for a sling. I think I have 3x crappy ones in a pile somewhere, no doubt costing more than the $70 you paid!
