Last time i took my Russians SKS to the range, i decided to make a little experiment with them... I stripped field the 3 of them and reassemble them with all mixed parts tube from one, piston from the other trigger ass'y with the wrong carrier, those rifles are great mecanik, not a single issue over 300 rounds shots, strip again, clean, oiled put back to all matching and back in the safe for another year, have to love those SKS... Cheers. JP.

Hate to rain on your parade but they are specially designed to have interchangable parts. Most military rifles are incase something is damaged. I believe that's what most Russian sks's are, mixed matched parts being refurbs.

in the safe for another YEAR? with all the surplus ammo around, i dunno how you can lock any gun up that long.......

It's nice to see they all work well with the parts swapped.

I know they are SUPPOSED to, but that really doesn't carry much weight with me. How many things out there don't even come close to doing all that they are supposed to?

I'm glad that you could get such good groups or else you would probably put a NCstar receiver cover on and a Sparks reddot on all of them and then shoot sub MOA groups at 500 yds.

Ncstar cover is not very good, tried one once could not keep the zero, the SKS is really a 3 to 6 inch group rifle... JP.

Not all refurbs are the same. The Russians numbered every part including the stock,if they changed out anything it was marked with the refurb stamp. Many of what you can get now from places like westrifle, have a refurb stamp with only the stock being changed.

Those are from lower up izzy 53---izzy 54---izzy 54... Cheers. JP.
