Burger VLD Hunting bullets, anyone using them

I took a deer down from 225y with 168g Vld hunting in 308Win last year.the doe jump and fall after 10 feet from a good lung shot with 5 exit holes and a big mess inside.....
they are realy lethal on big game but they are working like a varmint bullet in my opinion !!!!!!

FIVE exit holes? Sounds like a horrible big game bullet, unless you like bloodshot meat.
Given this comment, and the comments you have made in the past friend, might I suggest you go and get some experience before posting stuff like this.
Take this as you will, but how many animals have you personally shot over 400yds?, heck 300yds?
I have some experience in this, and friends with much more experience (that I have witnessed not been told), and none including myself would work up a load for a precision hunting rifle, then do something ridiculous like stuff a Partition load on top of them, unless the Partition was part of that load.
Accubond work as well in the 500-700yd range as most VLD's I have used if the velocity is what it needs to be for any bullet, and the controversy is only for the fudds and the inexperienced.
Did you have something to contribute on the subject of animals shot with Bergers? The OP didn't mention long range at all.
I have shot 5 deer with 130gr Bergers out of a 6.5x47 Lapua. All died and all exited at ranges between 100yards and 350yds. I would experiment with them more to go beyond using them as a deer bullet in that cartridge.

.223 52gr and 55gr very accurate well made bullets I have used them on gophers,badgers and coyotes, from distances of 30m out to 375 on coyotes they are very effective
6mm 95 berger VLD's again very accurate and great for long range I use them on coyotes shots between 300 to 400 are common and have taken coyotes out to 600 on some occasions when I was not so proficent at calling
can not comment on the larger game as I have not shot any with them.

I used a 190 grain VLD (.300 Win) on a 440 yard whitetail buck, and never even made it through the ribs. It went straight down, but was standing with its head hanging when we walked up to it.
It'll be a cold day in hell before I use them again. At that time the hunting and target bullets were exactly the same except for the colour of the box. That may have changed now, but I've lost all interest in Bergers as big game bullets.

I would use them in any situation I would be willing to use a Ballistic Tip or SST etc.
They are very accurate. Dogleg's opinion isn't rare though, and five animals is a small amount of testing.
I just got a box of 168 hunting vlds. Will be doing load development soon. I intend to use them on deer at 300+. Judging by the expansion I got on a gmx at 250yards I feel comfortable using them out to 300 and then the bergers for further than that. At ~45 bucks a 100 that isn't much more than btips, ssts, amax etc.
