SIG P226 and the Norinco clone.

Where did you lads find your mainspring replacements (Wolff or SIG)? I might be missing my brain, but can't easily locate through the sponsors or EE.... D'oh!

I have both the real P226 and the NP22. The Sig is definitely better made and feels smoother overall. The Sig is way nicer initially...but with that said...I've put some cash into the NP22 and it almost is as nice as the Sig. However, with all the mods the price is approaching a real Sig...so where is the value now? I'd say...if money isn't an object then go Sig...if cash flow isn't there or you're just starting out...then a Norc NP22 can be a real fine handgun to learn on.

I have a 226 and the clone. Once I clipped a couple coils off the clone mainspring, the SA trigger was as good as the SIG and DA almost as good.

I have both in 9mm and 40 cal. Shoot the Norc mostly because it groups slightly better.

I handled a np22 at a local gun store recently and I was actually impressed with the trigger. Both SA and DA were quite good.
Yeah, if you buy it make sure you either try the one you are buying or buy the one on the shelf. Its very hit/miss with them, Ive sold many of them and some have nice DA some have horrible DA. SA is usually quite nice, some are crisper than others but all Ive handled have been good to awesome.

I've owned both, still have 2 Sig 226"s but skidded the Norc.
Wasn't horrible but it was definitely not the Sig. The Sigs are "never sells" and will one day be proudly handed down to my boys. Can"t say the same for the Norc......

Ive had a NP22. No problems what so ever. Very reliable and accurate. It ate all the different ammo I fed it. Definitely not as nice as the original but very functional and a hell of a lot easier on the wallet. You could buy a couple thousand rounds for the price difference.

I would buy another without reservations.....but would prefer a Sig
