I have night sights and firbre optics..
Tritium sights:
- cant see them in daytime, only the white ring around them
- night time or dark, they work great.. but how oftern do any of us shoot shoot in low enough lighting for them to be seen ?
- more costly then fibre optics
Fibre optics - red front/green rear or green front/yellow rear options..
- really stands out for quick acquisition and aiming in most lighting, indoor and outdoor and a still a little if some light around
- can't see it in no lighting..negative, but again, we don't shoot guns in the dark..
- less costly then tritium sights and many brands out there to chose from...
I almost ordered new set tritium sights for my Glock when my gunsmith reminded me of how often, if ever will I shoot in dark to be worth buying night sights ? ? ?
But, another option, which I'm considering, fibre in front for everyday better use, and tritium for rear, so in somewhat low light scenario (maybe indoor match with low lights for a stage) you're still able to see fibre enough and your rear will glow up a little for balance to line up your sights...
and some fibre optics claim to have natural glow even in low light..
And also nothing wrong with buying tritium, just because you like them, but they will NOT do anything special for you at all in every day shooting than regular white painted posts...
If you have ccw for u.s. states and may need in night time mugging, then bonus to have tritium
Something to consider.
