No hassle at all. You have to trim 270 brass, but not 30-06. As the previous poster pointed out, 25-06 brass is cheap and plentiful, but if you have lots of surplus '06 I see no safety issues with having the wrong head stamp in this case.
Apparently sizing a 30 neck to a 25 neck results in much thicker brass at the neck.
This can increase neck tension on the bullet; it also takes up room that the neck needs to expand into the chamber as it releases the bullet. Both lead to higher pressures.
So make sure to check neck thickness with a ball micrometer.
Then be prepared to turn the necks to SAAMI specs.

This is correct. I had a neck reamer for 25-06 when I was doing this, but never had to use it because the throat on my rifle was loose enough to allow room for expansion of the neck. It's certainly something one should be aware of!
I have made several hundred 25-06 cases from 270 and 30-06 as cases in my area are sometimes hard to find when in a rush. I have noticed no lack of accuracy out of my wifes sako finnlite or my cooper. Both of these rifles can get 1/2 " groups off the bench with 30-06 cases. I always check the sized case for length. Never had a neck thickness issue. Nickle plated cases however usually neck split on first or second reload so I avoid those now.
