Okay, my next pistol will be a CZ SP-01...but which one...Shadow, Tactical, or Phantom. Ultimately the decision is mine of course, but let's here some opinions from you guys/gals.

Drop free mag, rubber grips, fiber optic noveski sights, cz custom shop trigger job.

AH no, my SP-01 (not tactical, shadow or phantom) has night sights, rubber grips, drop free mag too.

Just that the SP-01 has an AMBI saftey not ambi de-cocker like the tactical. The Phantom is a POLYMER frame not steel like the 3 other versions mentioned.

Can't speak to the others, but I love my Shadow.
Really accurate (the weight helps), most comfortable grip - at least for my hands, and the fibre optic front sight is great for my aging eyes. Trigger is excellent right out of the box.

The shadow has good weight to it and a decent trigger pull (reduced by the lack of a firing pin safety). You do have to manually drop the hammer if you want to play in production division. I like the shadow, its a lot of gun for the money.

The 3 have "slightly" different design based on intended use. The Shadow was designed for IPSC shooting. It performs beautifully and as said above, it has the favor of many competition shooters. I got one for that reason and purpose and I do not regret my choice. I have not use the other 2 so no opinion.

The Shadow if you intend to shoot IPSC Production, just for the trigger, if IPSC is not in your plans. For range use I think the 85 Combat is a better choice and can be tuned with a competition hammer to have the same trigger as the Shadow.

The SP-01 is slightly lighter, has a different frame than the Shadow that most wouldn't notice. Should be slightly less coin to own.

The Phantum is a great gun with a not so hot trigger out of the box. With a lighter mainspring and some rounds down range it is a fine shooter. Not for everybody though. If you have smaller hands the Phantum might be of interest. The decocker is a nice option. Having shot the Phantum I would go with a striker fired pistol for a polymer gun such as the M&P over the Phantum. The Phantum, like all CZ's is very accurate.

I guess it depends on what use you are going to put the gun to.

Shadow is best for IPSC and has nicest trigger

Phantom is plastic, why would you want a dollar store gun?

Tactical has a decocker,is more drop safe but also has a harder trigger pull because it has a firing pin block that must be pulled out of the way every time you pull the trigger.Good for law enforcement but not the best for "gun games".

I love my Shadow!
