Can anyone tell me what this is called , I know what it is and what it's used for, you put in the opened action of a M14 (M305) to clean it. Anyone who has cleaned a M305 with a rod from the muzzle and has hit the open bolt with the brush knows that the bolt will slam shut..fast!!This item keeps it open and had a solvent slot.I don't have my M305 anymore and will sell it but need a name for it ...can't just post =FS plastic thing for M305:D
Thanks

I would call it an M14 Chamber Solvent port...........

There is a little trick to keep the bolt from slamming closed if hit with the cleaning rod............. and still have the stripper clip guide install.

Hold the bolt open and insert a stripper clip halfway down the stripper clip guide so that the clip is in front of the bolt. you can insert the stripper clip from the top or bottom. your method would depend if you have a scope mounted or not.......

The cleaning rod will hit the stripper clip instead of the bolt.......... ;)

You can also drill out a 12 gauge shotgun shell just slightly larger then your cleaning rod and use that for a muzzle/bore guide. Cut off the crinkled/folded part of the shell and it will slip right over the standard M14 flash suppressor......... ;)
