Hmmmmmm is that mini a factory 6.8?? That would be an awesome little gun for sure!!!!!!!!
Get some facts straight first before making statements. It is illegal to hunt with .223 in my province.
Secondly I have never shot from an elevated position before and the round went down to teh leg. Now that she is skinned and gutted there is no meat spoilage at all, it caught the joint after hiting the lung and sternum.
Also going to a smaller round to prevent spoilage is never ever an excuse for taking a poor shot that spoiled an animal. If I was not sure of my placement in the front end I would not have taken the shot.
I can back this statement by admitting openly that I turned away at shooting a buck earlier due to distance, he was moving too much, and I could not be sure of a good shot.
I made a responsible choice, took a good shot, I now know that shooting from an elevated stand means aiming six inches higher at 200.
Thanks for all the comments on the black rifle shooter again!!!!!
This isn't entirely true. Only some of the more heavily populated WMUs don't allow larger calibre rifles. Where I live, for example (WMU 84), you can hunt deer with any calibre you wish.Ya, I bought it from Brobee. It has a few of his custom touches and was worth every penny I paid for it! Quickly becoming my favorite gun. It is ideal for Southern Ontario where .277 is the biggest calibre you can hunt with.
XCR took 2 more this weekend. WOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, so apparently I should be charging rent for my 6.8 XCR.... Every guy I know wants to use it. And I admit, it does have "cool factor" for hunting.
But seriously... why the H-E-Double Hockey Sticks do I have to clean the darn thing after everyone else did all the killen'. It just ain't fair! I wanna kill something!!!
Seriously, congrats to the guys that used it and filled tags. I suspect it will have about 2 more deer, maybe 3 by the 7th. That's a busy XCR.![]()
Now I am torn do I buy a 6.8 xcr or a 260 xcr m ????
Also, I'm aware that you can't hunt with anything under .30 cal in Saskatchewan.
You can't use a .270 or .243 for deer hunting in Sask? I don't think a deer has ever been made that would handle a .270..
A 243 is the smallest caliber you can hunt with in Sk right now.
On the L versus M debate I am thinking stay with the xcr l since I have my M14 shortie custom for 308. That will stop large game in a hurry.
