How do you stop your LAR magazines w/coupler from falling apart?

So something I noticed when I bought a couple of the LAR "wedge" adapters here recently, there's nothing to stop them from falling apart if you drop them or otherwise.

I put some clear silicone on the bottom tabs of the mag body, maybe that will help.

Anyone have a better idea?

I have aluminum couplers, but I'm not sure if they're made by Dlask or not.

I don't mean "how do you stop them from falling apart" via breakage like the plastic couplers, I mean how do you prevent the coupler from sliding back off the magazine since there is not provision to hold it in place like a regular AR base plate.

There's a bolt that you tighten on the end of the Dlask ones.

A-ha! Yes, there is! I see that now, thank you.

It would have been nice if the ####head who sold them to me at TSE would have said something about that.

I wasn't paying attention either and completely missed it. After I got them together originally I kept telling myself what a stupid design this was.

No worries at all. I prefer the Dlask aluminium ones over the polymer ones. They don't break, the LAR-15's stay together (even when dropped) - and it makes it 'feel' more like a magazine with the additional weight. The only other thing I might recommend are some rubber end caps for your magazines (works great as dust covers and protects the feed lips from impacts when not in-use).

You can get these through Brownells at the following link:

Haha. Mine have hockey tape but one if these days Im going to rivet a strip of aluminum to them..... And cover that wih hockey tape. All mine are broken, my mags are banana'd sideways.

I initially used hockey tape, but then discovered a problem when stacking two "coupled" LAR (hence 4x 10rd LAR mags) in a double mag pouch. The hockey tape was making the two coupled mags sticking to each other. So I switched to electrical black tape. Keeping the amount of tape wrapping at minimal.

bought a couple of the plastic one from 1 of the sponsor. 1st time i took it to the range, dropped it and split in half, worst part is i didnt bring the original base plate, so i couldnt shoot anymore as the springs are all popped out and stuff. Kinda ### that i brought a case load out, got off 20 rnds, drop the mag and then have to go home.

all i got now are the dlask one, im never again buying the plastic one.

I have three of the Dlask aluminum ones lying around that I'd sell. PM me if you want them.

I have the Dlask couplers and found the screw wasn't quite big enough to retain both mags. $1.50 at Home Deport solved the problem. Added rubber washers (to avoid damage to the mags when tightening and improve the grip) topped with steel washers. There's no way they're coming apart now.
