k98k import

Be prepared to PAY and WAIT
It can cost anywhere from $200 to $600 for importation costs and take 6-10 months.
Also K98s are still expensive down there. So if your buying something run of the mill, it isnt worth it, and if its not run of the mill, you will pay.

I will just look for them at gun shows.

You can get Russian Captured German K98s in the 400-500 range, East German and Czech rebuilds go for 500+, mismatched German rifles are going to start at 700 for one with problems, a decent one will go for 800-900, a matching rifle is going to be over 1000

Gew. 98s are similar but a little less overall for the same condition K98k

Rechambered norwegian and israeli rifles will be in the 500 area.

Yugos, as previously mentioned, are 400ish, same with the czech ones.

Swede mausers are in a different calibre and are also in the 400 range but are generally in better condition.

There are other mausers out there too made by countries like poland, belgium, spain, portugal, and a few german contracts for south american countries and values on them can be anywhere from almost nothing to a lot of money.

Do your research and find out what you are really looking for and what you want to pay.

Alright, then you know the US values aren't that far off. Slightly less on the RC mausers but everything else is similar. Just take into consideration the time and expense of paying for an import from the states and you're going to exceed those values. Like other posters suggested unless it is something that is unique you can find it here in Canada for less cost and less time.

im looking in to import a k98k from the states. Any dealers that does this?

dgradinaru - I highly recommend Prophet River. I used Prophet River to import several mausers from the USA last summer including my Polish K98 pictured in one of the mauser threads. Clay and his staff are great folks to work with. They take care of everything and will keep you posted.

It is expensive though and like everything costs have risen for this service. Don't know what it is now but I know it went up while I was in the process of importing my mausers. Clay did offer a discount on volume imports and did charge me the quoted price even though his costs had risen - he was good to his word. It was about a four month wait.

Plus you are on the west coast right? They're based in Alberta so shipping costs to B.C. are less. That will save you a little money. I believe Questar also offers an importation service and are out east.

As others have said - its really only worth it if it for something you can't find here or something that would cost way more in Canada than the USA. You need to factor in the expense of the importation into the cost of the purchase to see if its worth it. For me and a few others I know it was.

Good luck, I'm very happy I went this route. :D

No offense, but then why would you import a yugo? f:P:

Import something RARE or matching or buy here.

All of the yugos i see are over 450 ....i thought the importing was alot cheaper. Like 100$....on top of a rifle. Since it cost that much i will wait for the large gun show here in kamloops.

I always saw good deals there, but never decided to buy one until this year.

Thanks for all of the advice.
