Hey guys.
As you can see I'm new around here.

I've done some research on this topic but can not locate any information on the lar 15 pistol mags specifically.

I understand that full size magazines designed for .223/5.56 start to bulge after 5 or 6 rounds of 6.8 spc are loaded. I wonder if this is the case with the 10 round mags though, as perhaps their shorter frame is more rigid than the longer frames of full size mags. Anyone with any direct experience?

So the root of my question is will the LAR 15 pistol mags from Rock River Arms work for 6.8 spc, and if so, how many 6.8 cartridges will fit and reliably feed from them.

No LAR 15 pistol magazines are 223 Rem magazine, but you can use an XCR pistol 6.8SPC magazine from Wolverine Supplies.
You can use XCR pistol 7.62x39 magazine if they have no 6.8SPC magazines but call them and confirm this for current magazines before ordering.

Alex,
Thank you so much for your response and for informing me of the existence of such a thing. I was keen on the LAR 15 mags from RRA due to 10 round capacity and had no idea that any other such 10 round magazines had been accepted as pistol magazines in Canada.

And now a follow up question...
Does anyone know if the base plate couplers designed for the LAR magazines will work with these 6.8 magazines? Common sense says yes, as the external dimensions of the two magazines must be very similar for them to work in he standard ar15 lower, but as always, looking for real experience in this area.

Correct, kind of.

According to wolverine, no such thing as dedicated 6.8 pistol mags but the 7.62 work fine and they have 10 rounders in stock, I just ordered a couple for my XCR.

Talk to Tyson, he will set you up
