There is actually a reserve in Quebec that has hog hunts and is cheaper..... not the same but just throwing that option out...
Does anyone else besides me dislike having a guide?
Ya, there's loads of canned hunts right across Canada and the U.S. and there's lots of feeder hunts too....they are all pretty well cheaper just because of the logistics of running them. The Nail is a big ranch with some awesome terrain and cover and it offers a challenging hog hunt. It's got some great whitetail and predator hunting as well. Loads of coyotes and bobcats!
Although canned these hunts aren't that easy.... no feed... and you can challenge by using bow or muzzy.... that being said, a texas hunt would be better....
I wouldn't be looking for a guide if I had any idea where to hunt them. Since I am flying to another Country it would be nice to have one. When I go fishing I like having a guide with me at unfamiliar lakes as well.
I'd rather pay for a hunt in Texas, than pay for a canned hunt on a couple hundred acres of fenced land. Not saying the canned hunts are easy, just not my liking.
