What are the chances the 542 makes it in? I mean Questar did just have their 522 deemed an "550 variant". I hate to be the downer but the question is valid.

Well the Swiss Arms got in because they're based on the SIG 540 as is the FAMAE SG 542. Since the 540 came before the 550, it'll have no problems getting in. Its just a matter of time.

What is the general feeling about FAMAE? since this is a licensed copy I imagine the quality wil be up their, but how would these compare to the Swiss Arms rifles like the up coming SAPR?

I am relly hooked on this rifle, I was looking at the SAPR but this looks like it will be quite a bit more affordable.

Well if they decided to ban the SG 540/541/542, then they'd have to seize the few (SIG/Manurhin) made ones that are already in Canada.

That and the Swiss Arms seem to have no issues getting in, so approval is just a matter of time IMO.
