problems with mfs ammo

hey guys is anyone else have problems with mfs 556 ammo? im having primers struck and nothing happens. i change up to umc ammo and have failures to extract. i use ae black box and no problems at all. any ideas? the rifle is a csa sa 58 rifle.

As far as I know you should not be switching up between the laquer coated ammo and brass ammo. I think thats why the UMC is sticking in the chamber. Need to clean it before you use brass cased ammo.

hmmm the mfs is being struck by the firing pin and not shooting, the umc has always been junk ammo and ae black box shoots like a dream. i dont care about mixing and matching ammo i want to find out why when struck by the firing pin the mfs does not go down range.

interesting, i saw MFS 7.62x54mm in ontario gun show in orangeville.
I was about to buy it but then again didn't need to at the moment.

i had some of the mfs 174 for my svt 40 and it was great. im just wondering if i got a bad batch. i bought it in ottawa. im only having problems with the 556 mfs.

As he said, you probably need a chamber brush if you have the lacquer coated case (which MFS "milspec" use). Your are not zinc coated right?

I don't know how is the weather in your area. Last winter at -20c and -30c my Swiss arms rifle had light strikes, more often with MFS than others. A big part of the solution was to dry (no lube) the firing pin and hammer spring.

Some rifles/guns don't like lacquer coated cases. I've fired off several hundred MFS X54R 200gr soft points with no failures at all, in several rifles. Having said, that is the only mfs ammunition I've tried, but shot really well.

hey dont get me wrong, in x54r it shot great. but the 556 ammo every round was a light strike. the gun was clean. im thinking the csa sa 58 just dont like mfs ammo. i still have a bit left that ill give to the guys this weekend and see if thier ar's like it. has anyone tried the x 39 in thier sks, or 858's? if so hoe does it shoot?
