Let's See Your Mauser Sporters

I dont know much about it but its been in the family for a while, Iv taken a few bucks with it. 6.5x55 swede almost sold it to buy mini 14 mags, I smartend up and sold my old crossbow instead haha. Any one have any info (can take better pictures if needed). It has husqavarna stamped nearly under the scope mounts. My friends have a few old husq's rifles.

If the date is 1941, 42, it is a M38 Swedish Mauser Military short rifle. If 1943 or 1944 with an uncut short barrel with the original sight still intact, it is a m38 but an uncut barrel longer than 24 inches would make it 1943 or 44 production of 18,000 m96 long rifles made for the FSR (Swedish Shooters Association.) Does it have a front sight on it? If so, a picture would help.

I hope to have it all cleaned up and ready for deer season. I know the pictures suck, it may be time for a new camera.

458x2inch American on an FN-K98 action. Boyd stock, early Timney trigger, & one mercury recoil reducer inbedded in the stock.
I have RCBS conversion dies to convert any H&H magnum case via cutting/trimming/reaming to fit my needs.
Therefore all of my brass is rifle range discards from many 7mm and 300 Win Magnum, etc, discards from non-reloaders.
With the plefora of 45-70 bullets/powder/components, this is a very easy rifle to feed.

If Nabs see's this he's going to be so jealous ! Free with 2 boxes of shells? Doesn't get any better than that.

Ya, he saw it over at the Milsurp section. At first I was a little dissapointed when I saw it, because I was hoping for one that I could restore. But, now have come to the realization that when cleaned up, it will a real nice servicable hunting rifle, with some added bonus history to it too! And, is it ever nice to shoot!

Mauser newbie

I'm a Mauser newbie. I just ordered this Stiga M96 in .30-06 from Trade-Ex. Nothing fancy, but I'm sure looking forward to trying her out.

All very nice Mausers, lots of different styles and tastes, I enjoy looking at them all. No Mauser collection is complete without a 98 Geha / Remo - wink wink -, I have several, would like / hope to find one / make one in 20 gau. someday. --- John303.
