The 760/7600 Club

I finally found a model 760 Carbine in .308. :) I've been looking for one of these for a long time. Looking forward to taking it out this season for a Whitetail. So far, it has the factory open sights on it - and I'm thinking about putting a Williams aperture sight on it at some point. I still have three boxes of the old Imperial 200 grain KKSP loading (Kling Kor Soft Point). I plan to zero it with this load as an up close and personal rig, at least to start with.

Changes of plans for sighting system...

I have decided to mount a scope on this rifle so as to see how it will shoot, so equipped. I put a one piece Leupold base on it, and have now mounted an old, steel tube Weaver Marksman 4X scope...the only thing I had available. It should work great on this rifle; and very classic! :)

Wow! Nice collection. :)

Being forced a left hander due to a eye problem on the right side, I continued to shoot right handed guns for years. Then I fired my friends 760 and the rest is history. All the bolt actions are sold off and I have a little collection of 760/7600 going. I would like to add a weathermaster but for some reason in canada the sellers think they are worth a lot more money than they really are.
They seem to think they were classed above the wood stock versions when new when in fact they were priced just a bit more than a black syn but less than a wood stock 7600.
I had a chance to buy one when they came out in 2004?? in 308 and kick my butt every since that I didnot. take care

Well since I posted this in June it proved to be a good year for my 760/7600 little collection. I picked up a new in the box early 90's 7600 in 243 and BLD grade and just a few weeks ago the one I have been looking for 30 years it seemed a 760 in .223.:D
Still need a weathermaster but that will happen some day

Good for you, it feels so much better when you finally get your prize, after years of searching. I to had great luck in finding, OK stumbled, my Ruger tang safety chambered in 280 Remington. It wears a custom barrel as well.

Combine one Remington 760 in .308 with a fine hound...

...and throw in one "loose nut" behind the stock ;), and you just might get 9 points!:D
