Had a buddy send in his new Rem 750 for problems and he left his scope on it.

When he got it back there was nothing but the scope and a credit for $900 to go buy a new gun at the local gunshop.

He ended up using it on a Benelli.

I have only used Remington warranty once in the last 40 years and they were extremely helpful and I was most satisfied.

25-06 action that wasnt threaded properly by any chance? turned it into a 280???? I currently have that gun, shoots 140g accubonds under .5 moa.

Remington gave me a new BDL barrelled action (6mm Rem heavy barrel) complete for a crappy old action and bolt (no trigger) and a pull off barrel that had factory faulty rifling. I had bought the barrel for $25 at a gun show and when I cleaned it could see and feel faults in the bore. I had sent just the barrel to Remington and they said they need an action as well as they can not replace just a barrel... so I sent an old beat up rusty action and bolt... I talked to a rep at the factory and he threw in a bunch of trigger parts that they did not sell that I wanted... this was back when you could mail this directly to Remington.

The extractor broke on my 1894, called Gravel and explained the problem. They mailed me two new ones and an ejector in time for rifle season. No questions asked. Everyone I know who has had to send a remington in for service at Gravel has been more than satisified with their work and turn around time.

There are a bunch of Remingtons in my gun safes... 700s, a 40X, 870s, an 1100, but I cannot comment on Remington warranty service because nary a one has needed work.
I can't say the same thing about the other ' R ' company because they won't even reply to my complaints or replace the inferior parts sent back to them....

For the few times a small problem has occurred I dealt with Keith Long at Long's Guns, Bewdley, Ont. He is an authorized Remington repair gunsmith. In my case I drove there and just dropped in and got looked after while I waited.
