I am convinced I want a noveske ar15. I am fairly new to the black rifle scene so I was hoping sone of you more experienced guys can give me some pointers. I was told mid length gas assemblies are "smoother" than the carbine length. This is something I definitely desire. There's a guy at my range who shoots with a sr15 and swears by the longer gas assembly. Is this just a dominant feature knights armament rifles have or will I experience something similar with a noveske with mid length assembly. On that note, where can I find a noveske afghan rifle? I know quester normally carries them but I believe they are out of stock at the moment.

All the complete Noveske rifles coming into Canada are coming through Questar to my knowledge. If they don't have it in stock they may be able to order it for you. Can also keep your eyes open in the EE.

There is a BNIB Noveske 10.5 with a flaming pig flash hider on the EE for $2600 shipped... That's a smokin deal and if I didn't just buy 2 AR's this month I would have been all over it...

opinion's vary. but i think noveske is near top shelf, along with lmt, colt may be up there too with armalite. stag, dpms, bushmaster are more considered mid entry level ar's. not to say there is anything wrong with the lower priced units, but the fit and finish and quality of components in these is not the same caliber as noveske and lmt.
if you place your lively hood on the functioning aspects, there is but a few to choose from, most folks would never realize the difference. my .02.
if i had copious amounts of income, noveske would be the ticket.

Would you say better or worse than LMT, Stag or Core?

Seems most of the brands I mention have pricing "similar" on their higher end models no?

Core is NOT a Tier 1 manufacturer, so yes, I would argue Noveske is better until Core elevates their game (assuming the want to? - they are a bargain-price point AR).

LMT and Noveske are playing in the same card game. I see Stag as slightly below those two, maybe on a par with Colt.

I have to disagree. LMT and Noveske are up there with KAC. Stag and Colt are, in my opinion, about equivalent. Armalite is in the same ballpark as RRA or Bushmaster. Decent, but not a top tier AR15. Armalite does not even machine their own receivers any more - they are subcontracted to Aero Precision (who make good stuff, but you're not top tier if you don't make your own receivers).

Core = DPMS = Olympic Arms = Model One sales = Hesse Arms = "Questar Brand AR" = Norinco = bargain priced AR's targeted at entry level buyers.

x2.

... IMHO they are way too expensive for what they are, but they are a quality AR15.

How so? Could you elaborate a bit more on this? Have you ever owned a Noveske rifle? Hard to believe anyone who's owned one could make such an ignorant statment...

Their top end models end up around 3k up here. So in that price point what else is out there that competes with it?

ACR? lol

Swiss? ...Close and a fair comparison but a Noveske AR is just as reliable and accurate. A Noveske AR trumps Swiss in fit, finish and shear beauty that's a no brainer.

XCR? again I lol

Noveske is manufacturing alot of their own components now, ie BCG's, Lowers, Switchblocks, FF Rails and of course their Barrels. Their QC is among the very best in the industry and I like the fact that they recognize other top manufactures in the industry and incorporate their components into their rifle designs. Vltor, AAC, Smith Ent, Troy etc. Those manufacturers make some of the best components today so why not utilize them versus trying to reinvent the wheel. They do, and the result is simply the best of everything rolled into one. It's all in the details...

Of course I'm bias here seeing as I just bought one, but the above is factual and not meant to come off as fanboy gossip.

A good AR resource

Here is a thread on another site comparing features of mil-spec models from different manufacturers:

h ttp://m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=82739

There is a link to an explanation of the features as well. I recommend spending some time on here and over there reading as much as you can about AR's (and any brands you might have in mind) before your purchase. Trouble in Canada seems to be that even entry or mid level AR's can demand a pretty penny, so it is best to do as much research as possible so you get the rifle you will be most happy with. Everything I have read about noveske screams quality, but I don't own one and have never shot one, so my opinion isn't worth much.

The prices listed in the chart might depress you, but such as life haha...

^50calshooter - beautiful rifle by the way...

Nice gun

I just got an LMT but if there was no budget... Congratulations :)

I just wanted to add to this comment by saying if anything this is true of Knights, but definitely not the case with Noveske.

When I first started getting into this game I thought the same thing.

Until the day when we became the KAC distributor for Canada.

Then I got to touch and feel and use KAC products, and life has not been the same for me since.

But if I'm browsing your website correclty, a KAC is twice that of the above noted Noveske which is apparently in the $3K range. Is this true?
