night vishion goggles

Get a couple live traps, and save your money for something useful.

By the time you spend what you need to, in order to get a reasonable image, you are getting into the price of a nice used truck, or a bunch of new guns.

If you really gotta shoot at night, and it's both safe and legal, buy a decent rechargeable light and mount it on the gun. Google for images of "lamping rigs", and you will see a lot of variations on the theme from the UK, and similar places, where you are not automatically a bad person for shooting in the darkness.

the hunting regs of most places in canada dont let you shoot after dark now not knowing what province your from does not help

but hunting after dark is not allowed in most places your best bet is live traps and dispatch them in the day

You can in all zones in Ontario for Raccoons.

Specie: Raccoon, Area: All of Ontario, Resident Open Season: Oct. 15 to Jan. 15 of the next year
If you wish to hunt raccoons at night, you must carry your
resident’s licence to hunt raccoon at night and your
Outdoors Card with a small game licence tag. You must also
be accompanied by a dog licensed for raccoon hunting
. You
can only use a .22 calibre rim-fire rifle chambered for the
following cartridges: .22 short, .22 long or .22 long rifle.
Raccoon night hunters must have their guns encased while
in the vehicle. A licensed night raccoon hunter may use a
light if it is not shone from or attached to a vehicle or boat.

Though you will need a dog.

i dont really want to have a bunch of traps around my aunties yard. and the night vishion goggles i will use for many things, like checking the cows at night and if i shoot a deer right before dark i will be able to look for him. i just woundering if ill be able to see though a scope with the goggles on. im thinking about the yukon viking 1x28 nigh vishion goggles. thanks!

Have you considered...hiring a contractor to dig a moat around your aunt's house complete with 16th century draw-bridge? This may be more cost-effective than the goggles. Seriously man...call up a buddy to hold the flashlight while you shoot them with a .22 or trap them like everybody else.

ok serously, answere my question. and you see though a scope with night vishion goggles on? is it so hard to do.

no one is going to answer this because no one hunts with night vision goggles its just dumb and it may not be legal(but we dont know where your at)

your better off with live traps and then dispatching them in day light hours as hunting at night is poching in most places(other then raccoon at night in ontario with a raccoon at night license and with a licensed dog and you have to keep the pelt and have it tanned)

Take the money you would have spent on the goggles and invest in some elementary level spelling courses. This will prove to be a good investment, as the next time you need to ask for help on a forum, people will take you seriously.

Have you tried renting a raccoon costume and posing as a raccoon? Then you can infiltrate the ranks of the raccoons...slowly but surely you will gain their trust until one day, when their backs are turned...then you make your move.

Too bad you are being a bit pig-headed over the need for NVG's.

Not sure if they will even ship those without an Import permit and export permit from the US side.

But don't let that bother you much. At that price range, they are a step up from the Fisher-Price toys, but not a big step.

Better you read some of Kombi1976's posts about night hunting in Australia, like this one http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=679895 , and see how 'tis done.

Last pair of NVG's I got to play with were $70,000 for a set. They needed another $100k or so worth of test and calibration equipment to maintain them, and to make sure they were aimed correctly. Helicopter pilots were using them to fly at night, so they were reasonably good kit.

If you really think you need the $500 set of goggles, buy the damned things and get back to us about how they work. I think it's money down the toilet, myself.

Or you can just stick to what works.
