New Mossberg 930 Tactical Charging Handle from DLASK Arms

I had to buy the factory front in the Trijicon RE04 set. It includes a Remington rear sight which I still have and I am obviously not using. It was $130 + tax at Reliable Gun. I wanted the Rem. front sight as I think it is better than anything Mossberg produces. The factory SPX front sight I did not like and had no plans to emulate. The rem. is an all steel part with no fluorescent plastic tubes and sits lower to the bore. If I had it silver soldered on, it would have been brilliant but it was not suggested to this 12ga. front sight installation newbie and the RE04 kit came with epoxy. The sight picture is superb. I will send it to Casey to take over from here. Sadly, I did not do that in the beginning. After a complete gun koat, I expect nothing but perfection but be wary, this project has cost a sum I will not tell. Too much for most people. Nevertheless, I will be quite happy with my 12 once it is complete but it is starting to feel like the Long Gun Registry in terms of overall cost.

I found the oversized handles to get worked hard in the action and becoming sloppy in the bolt over time. The added weight doesn't help due to inertia and the gloved hand is a moot point.
The factory non-tactical bolt handle works the same. Bad Boys handles aren't bad either and are good deals.

I don't see how working the stock one bolt handle alot does not wear it out just as easily as an aftermarket one just like the added weight. A properly designed aftermarket one will weigh no more than a stocker.

Aside from drinking far too much of the tacti-koolaid, I think the Dlask one looks pretty neat but I prefer something like the Choate style.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I like hte aftermarket offerings because it makes operating the bolt just that much easier. Easier to get ahold of and easier to operate. ie, being able to get two fingers to operate the bolt rather than one.

But that just may be me getting drunk on the tacti-koolaid :)

I have an oversized one that's solid metal(steel). I'm not sure who made it, but it's twice the weight and looser than a hotdog thrown down a hallway. Looks like a high school machine shop project. I took it off one of my guns and replaced it with the factory unit. I'll make up some at work made from aluminum.
