The best milsurp for investment

No M1 Grand.A few years back they built 10000 from the left over parts on the shelf they had such a good turn out they started to build them new hence the part number went back in the system things could of changed since then but all i can say is look them up on the Springfield armory web site when they first started they were $1200 new.

Hey? I think you're meaning an M1A. Not the same rifle and not for $1200.00

Agree 100% I have to have USGI. All I want is garands, m1 carbines, 1911a1's and more garands. yes there expensive, yes the've more then quadrupled in price in the last 15 years, but I love them and want more of them and everything that goes with'em
To get back on topic. My opinion is to get something that you are interested in, not just something to maybe make money in the future. And when I say interested I mean the whole 9 yards. Something that you will get mountains of reference material, and spend days/weeks just learning all that you can about that particular type of rifle. I've started doing this in the last year, with Enfields (look at my signature)

EDIT: Also work on getting all of the bits an pieces that go with the rifle. Bayonets, frogs, stripper/charger clips, slings, mag pouches/bandoliers or whole kits, armourers tools, and so on. So that if you are just in it for invenstment, when the time comes to sell, you have a complete package.

Just looked it up myself they must of stopped making them new but when they did they were offered in 30-06 and 308 GI set up.
I did find this.

I'd have to go with a non-refurbished SKS-45. Leave it in the grease... Get one while you still can. Buy one to keep and one to play with.

Pick up a South American contract Mauser (Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Columbia, etc.) made by FN or DWM, preferably ones that are unissued and unfired. I suspect they will shoot up in value over the next decade.
Another nod to unissued, unfired, unrefurbished Russian SKS's. Especially a cleanly riveted or pin welded example. Russians WILL dry up by next year, and unissued examples are now as rare as hens teeth! Every dealer I've spoken with said that there aren't many Russians left.

The Westrifle seems to be "sold out" of all unfired unissued SKS.
My boy asked if will be new shipment but he did nor received any answer

I want to know your opinion about :
-What type of milsurp will go more up in price in the next years?
- K31
-K98
-Unissued SKS
-STV
-Or what else?

Mosin nagant price will go up eventuly...

SVT40 Look at the price in the US right now 800 for one

SKS only Russian unfired(rare) will eventuly go up

K98 already high

Lee enfield?

I always like going through old threads like these, interesting to see how predictions turned out. My fav post was the prediction that Russian SKS's would be gone by the nest year, and now 2 years later we have more than ever!

I was doing some cleanup the other day and came across a Gunrunner from 2000. Marstar had an add with select M1 Garands going for about $189, and they had a “family pack” of four for $500. I wish I’d picked up a few then, it seems like it would have been the best investment around. My wife does keep reminding me that it’s only an investment if you sell them.

original Israeli FN made 98k 8mm/308/22 rifles and the 308 Israeli FN 98k sniper rifles. Long Branch/ Enfield 22/303/308 target rifles PCMR model 94 Winchester's and other issue rifles. All of these firearms were very common at gunshows at one time. Now you don't see them

Since 2011 M44s ans M38 have doubled or more, SKS has stayed the same and ownership is plentiful. Mosins are up 50%, SVTs are up30%, K31s are relatively the same price, Enfeilds and K98s have steadily climbed.

The unfired and rare SKS rifles are incredibly under-appreciated in Canada. Rifles we are able to buy for $250 here are already bringing $600+ south of the border in auctions. Like many milsurps, the current abundance of supply and low prices have fooled people into thinking these are not collector items. That said, any highly original milsurp that has not seen a massive price jump already is probably wise to hold on to.
