M14 EBR Steel Trigger Shoe ?

So because I don't see a need for it, therefore I don't understand what it was designed to do????
I don't think you understand..........I know what the shoe is designed to do...........I personally don't see a need for it and wouldn't spend the $65.00 on something that I could put towards something more useless to myself......It's that simple.
I like the feel of the narrow M14 trigger, and the angle of pull doesn't bother me. I personally don't like wide triggers............
Someone asked for thoughts on this part.................I gave my thoughts.............Sorry if those that sell or bought the part don't like my opinion............
I have owned,shot, and built many M14 type rifles over the last 20 years and I never had any issue with the USGI triggers.........
Your opinion has been duly noted, but the opinions of Mike Peterson, Dave
Armstrong and others happen to carry much more weight... it's just that simple.
My own personal experiences shooting the SAGE EBR since 2004 are also factored in.
I have nothing but respect for you and your knowledge of the M14 platform........you are a definite asset here in the Battle Rifle Forum.
The opinions of Mike,Dave, and yourself do carry a lot of weight.......there is no doubt in that.......BUT, they are manufacturing a product and you are selling/promoting their product so these opinions on this item are biased.
Others in this thread have purchased this trigger shoe and love it. That is great.........Objective opinions........
Currently I see no need for it myself...........and wish I still had my Crazyhorse EBR clone to try one out to see if my mind would change. Maybe this spring when I get back into M14s I will get one and test it out...........

Buddy of mine owns a genuine "US Army M-21-ish" built for him by the guys on base just before he retired from the service. He'd have gotten his back in the 1990's probably...does not have a pistol grip but rather a nice but typical M-14-looking wood stock. However, the NM armorers there had installed a "trigger shoe" onto his too...not the same people, not the same design as this one, but something generally like it.
When I went and bought my Norinco, he advised me to try out a trigger shoe on mine, he really likes it even on the standard stock. Keep in mind though that he's ALL accuracy orientated...rapid fire is for M-4's in his world! Since I wasn't aware of this new product I asked him where I could get one like his, and he didn't have a clue, saying they gave him the rifle that way!
Maybe next year I'll go to Florida and get some tips, examine his armory masterpiece! He says he's got some parts, accessories and literature for me...might have to take him up on the offer soon!

This is NOT the small multi-tool that Fulton and others sell.
This is the full size one that CRANE is issuing with their MK 14 Mod 2 EBR.
It's almost identical to the one TACOM issues with their M14EBR-RI.

so I went ahead and bought one
I love upgrading my m14. So after seeing this and reading the above debates, I went ahead and ordered one of the trigger shoes. Here are some pics and my review.
As you can see it slides over the front of the shoe and is held in place by a couple of set screws. The counstruction is excellent and the fit of the shoe over the trigger is rock solid. No slop. With some lock tight this thing will never move out of place.
Here are a couple of shot before and after. Check out the diffence in the width of the pad after. It really feels great under my trigger finger. As I like to shoot with the tip of my finger the contact that the new pad provides seems to give me a better sense of connection to the trigger itself. The trigger does feel a little lighter with it on and I can feel the moment before the click better(does that make sense?). I took it off a few times and each time the naked trigger felt smaller and not quite right.

I really like this product. I was never really happy with how shape of the naked trigger felt. For example I always liked the wider triggers on my pistols alot better. I will say this is definately worth the money and I highly recommend it. It is must have for those who have the sage stock on their m14.
