My cousin got this old shotgun:

10ga2.jpg

It's in pretty rough shape, but he was still wondering what it was worth...
Sorry for the bad phone quality pictures...
He mentioned something like it was supposed to be a rare edition that was used for some event with the queen. It has engraved silver on the sides.

Not particularly valuable guns. One of many european side by side ten gauges that were re-branded for sale in the states.

In Excellent condition with its chokes reamed out for the use of steel shot it would probably be worth 550-600 maybe 100$ less without.

It's not really that old, and it's not in very good condition, I'd keep it and shoot it, I don't believe it is worth more then $500 and then only because it's a 10ga 3 1/2".

ive got one in the safe, much better shape, i like it, that things rusty, if i walked into a store that was willing to sell something like that, id pay 200-250 for that.

Nothing rare about this gun. The only queen potentially involved might be the Queen of Spain and only if she drove through the town of Eibar where this gun was made. I'd suspect this gun was made by Hermanos Zabala in Spain. To confirm take the gun apart and look for a maker's mark with the letters ZH on the action or barrel flats. It should look like one of these:

Value of the gun? $150.00

Claybuster,

Would you have a link to Spanish proof codes? I think it might have been you who posted on in the past when I was researching some Spanish shotguns from Tradeex.

Incidentally, I have a 20 ga Kassnar Churchill shotgun that turned out to have Ugartechea (sp?) proofmarks, and it looks alot like the 10 ga above but in better shape. If the guns an Uggie, for the cost of rebluing the barrels that 10ga would make an interesting addition to a collection, I'd think.

It is possible the Kassner is a Uggie. I believe they used more than one maker. Here's the link to the marks.
