ruger 10/22 barrels

hey every one, im looking for a ruger 10/22 barrel that has open sights on it? know where i can get one. main reason i want it is because in going to get it chopped down to like 15 inch then threaded at the end. mainly for a grous/ squirrel gun.

Unless your in some foreign country that allows shortening bbls under 18", then your in for a world of hurt. Cutting to 15" in Canada would make it prohibited. Hical sells brand new 18.5" bbls but for something shorter you could either find a CRR compact 16.5" bbl or something like a Dlask or NEA bbl but these do not come with iron sights. A smith could mount a set of irons on them for you for an added fee

didn't you already start this thread? You can't buy a barrel and get it chopped. You can however, buy a barrel the length you desire and have it dovetailed for open sights. Any competent gunsmith should be able to dovetail your new barrel front and rear. Or you could just get the muzzle end dovetail and install a tech sight on the reciever end. A Dlask barrel would be a good starting point.

Duck hunters right. Thats just the way it is. You can buy an 8.5" barrel as long as your overall length is over 26" but you or a gunsmith can't cut your factory 18.5" barrel down to 18". If you can figure out that law, let us all know.
